I would definaty use the Classic Basecoat first to soak into the wood, this Extra is more a Uv and Weather Protection Surface Coating. My advise is purchase a Mixing Paddle and Give it a Wizz with your power Drill, otherwise the Pigments settle and the Dark Liqid sits at the top of the Tin so your first few Planks are Darker, and you get Lighter as you progress. I used a 4 inch paint brush / 5ltr Paint Scuttle / prodec 7 inch Angled Deck Brush with Extension Pole, and a cheap Blue Plastic tarpaulin for the splashes and Drips. You have to work quickly, you may notice dark and Lighter patches as you go? At the end I very lightly used the tip of the Bristles (with out paint) and whizzed over the side of the shed, so everything Blends and looked the same colour. As it dries out it changes into a Unformation Shade. If you go back to Dob a bit, you will create a Patch that looks Lighter in Colour so you have to wizz over the surface as previously described without paint.

I didn't use it myself but it covered well and the job progressed quickly. Coverage was even and the amount needed was as we'd expected. I've had it done with this in the last and it's lasted well. I noted another comment and bought a drill attachment for stirring which was helpful.

We have used this for a while and it really protects and lasts. Highly recommend

Don't use white spirit to clean or dilute, only meths or cellulose thiners will work. Excellent product and good service from Screwfix.
