While getting used to wearing it I managed to trigger the alarm accidentally. I wad connected immediately both times. The system uses a semi-automated answering system to determine what help is needed. Since both times were accidental I just said so and the system disconnected. I haven't had to use it in a real emergency so I can't speak to what would happen next. The compact USB charging base sits next to my computer and is very compact and easy to correctly place the pendant in. There is a recorded response that plays to let one know it is charging. The two times the battery was getting low I got an email to that effect to warm we. The lanyard supplied fits easily over my head, had has a magnetic catch to facilitate on/off access if one had troubles getting the lanyard over the head.
