The Guitarist's Chord Book by Peter Vogl is a 144 page book that contains over 900 chords with photos to clearly illustrate each chord and each note of the chord is labeled. This book makes finding chords you want to play easy. It also contains a special moveable chords section with the most widely used shapes for each class of chord. Peter Vogl has also included goodies from his bag of tricks to give you new sounds, shapes, and inspirations for song arrangements. The chord shapes have been reviewed by guitar teachers and players across the country. This is a must read for guitar players of all levels. - Watch & Learn, Inc. Review: Good Chord Book - Gives a number of fingerings for a chord which is what I was looking for. It also has pictures of the fingerings but I find the pattern good enough for me. Also has a selection of movable and power cords as a bonus near the back of the book along with some chord progressions. I find it useful. YMMV. Review: Great way to learn chords or reference them - If you play guitar and need a quick reference guide, this is the book. If you’re a beginner and want to learn the structure of chords quickly and easily, this is the book. It’s not just tabs, which annoy me. It contains pics hand positioning on the neck for each chord, and the notes you are combining to create the chord. No music staff. Simple guide that’s easy to use

Targeted towards beginners
The book has a lot of visual diagrams and pictures of hand shapes which makes it easy for beginners to understand chords. Chords aren't organized by sound and harmony but instead by root notes. This can make it harder for beginners to piece together good chord progressions. This shouldn't pose a problem for people experienced with a bit of music theory. In my opinion, the golden part of the book is the end, where there is more information on moveable chords and ways to play progressions. Worth the purchase for beginners, but intermediates or experts should steer clear.

Well Organized and Easy to Use
I've found The Guitarist's Chord Book to be extremely helpful. It's well organized, which makes it very easy to find chords, and the photos are helpful in seeing how to play each chord. I also really like the Moveable Chord section; once you learn the shapes and have a basic understanding of the notes on the guitar neck, you can play a host of different chords up and down the neck. I've owned several chord books over the years, but The Guitarist's Chord Book is the best by far.
