The New Teen Titans
I have not read this yet. Or rather, I have not reread this yet, LOL. But I am so ecstatic that DC has been releasing these collections of the first and second New Teen Titans series by Marv Wolfman. I was fortunate enough to pick up the DC Presents (I think that was the series) comic book that had a preview of The New Teen Titans, and I was hooked from page one. This is a fantastic series that unfortunately has never been matched since. If DC continues issuing collections, I'll be first on the list to buy them. At times, they rivaled the '80s X-Men at their best (which is also a series that has never been replicated since their heyday in the '80s).

For real Teen Titans fans
Loved the book...have been a fan since I was in middle school. Now as an adult...I can finally catch up after college; and life. It’s a great relaxing read...let’s you put into perspective the 80’s compared to 20XX’s ; so just sit back, and enjoy the ride

Great read.
Thank you. Enjoyed the booklet, but weren't enough pages to read as I paid full price! Felt short-changed, duped! Really great storyline.

Titans Tussle!
Another great trip down memory lane. The New Teen Titans/New Titans run was an incredible part of my teenage years and it was wonderful revisiting this amazing run.

Setting Up for the Next Volume
Collects issues of 10-15, plus Annual #1 of the revamped New Teen Titans from the 1980s. Most of these stories are setting up for the good ones that will be collected in the next volume. What we have here are a collection of decent, but not great, issues of the New Teen Titans. The first two issues deal with a love story where the weird origins of the character of Chrystal are revealed. Somewhat boring. Next we have a murder ghost mystery at Nightwing's apartment. This one was fun, but felt cramped. It could have used another issue. Then comes the annual which open with the character of Jericho looking over an old mission, not shown previously. This is back when Raven and Terra were still part of the team. The mission involves Superman and Brainiac, but mostly is an attempt to debut a new space-based superhero team called Vanguard. At the end of the issue it reads "Like the Vanguard? Tell us about it. Write to blah blah blah." I guess no one did, because we haven't heard of the team since. The next issue is a total waste as it simply ties in the series with Crisis on Infinite Earths and shows a few scenes only hinted at in that larger series. And unless you know that series, this is all just filler.Things pick up in the last two issues as we have dual stories running. One where half the team travels to Starfire's home planet where is will be forced to marry a pollical foe or the planet will be plunged into civil war. And a further story on Earth, where Changeling's stepfather redons the Mento helmet and goes off the rails. None of these interesting storyline are resolved. Along with this we have hints of the return of the Cult of Brother Blood and Raven's reappearance after destroying her father Trigun. As such, I'm looking forward to the next volume.

Into uncharted territory and the beginning of the next Titans Epic
With volume ten of the New Teen Titans trade paperback series, fans finally get the first volume that is 100% unreprinted material (Volumes 8 and 9 contained roughly half and half previously reprinted material/previously unavailable material).Collecting #10-15 and Annual #1 of the 1984 "Baxter" series (also known as New Teen Titans Volume 2), volume ten covers the last four stories before Crisis On Infinite Earths (#10-12 and Annual #1). And three issues that take the Titans into the Crisis storyline, along with beginning a rather lengthy 19 issue sequence that sees the Titans disband and ultimately reunite, to face a returning Brother Blood. The first two stories (#10-11) feature the origin story of Kole, who Marv Wolfman created solely to die in the Crisis Of Infinite Earths. #12 features a one-off story involving the Titans encountering a ghost girl and must solve a decades old murder case. Annual #1 is an inventory story most likely intended for DC Comics Presents; a pre-Judas Contract Saga story with Terra on the team, teaming up with a group of freakish crystal/Lovecraftian entities called "The Vanguard" to save Superman from Brainiac. #13 recaps the events of Crisis On Infinite Earth #1-6 from the perspective of the Titans, and #14-15 see launching of multiple storylines that will dominate the book for the coming year and a half: Raven resurfacing and being kidnapped by the Church of Brother Blood, Changeling's adopted father Mento going full-on insane evil due to brain cancer and the Mento helmet he used as a hero, and Nightwing and Jericho following Starfire back to her homeworld (now liberated from the Citadel) only to find that her father is forcing her to marry another man, to avert a civil war.
