Update: It didn't last!!
I purchased the Cusimax hot plate as a backup to a simpler hot plate that I was using at the time. Eventually, that hot plate failed and I turned to the Cusimax. It worked well for a few months, until now. Now, when I turn the power knob on the light comes on, and it heats up to MAX, while the temperature knob is still off. It makes a clicking noise that It didn't make before. I haven't even used it for six months and I have to replace it. When I first removed it from the package, I noticed that the word "ON" was partially missing. That made me skeptical about the quality. When I plugged it in, it was a very tight fit, and unplugging it was worse. I had to use force to pull it out of the socket. It worked though, so I overlooked those imperfections. I thought I had something sturdy that would last for years. I even thought that when I didn't need it anymore, I would give it to someone who could use it. Now I wonder if it is a product that wasn't made to last long at all. In other words, made cheaply. Update 2: I received a replacement burner right away, and was told to not even return the first one. They do heat up very impressively. Just like the first one, the quality is dismal. The power knob when turned off, to the left, just keeps going. That happened right away. Also, when a bit of food ends up on the unit, which is bound to happen, and is scraped off, even lightly with a fingernail, paint comes off with it. Furthermore, the characters on the temperature knob are so thin that even a young person has to lean over and get close to make them out. Because of my experiences with this brand, I will not even consider the brand for any other product.

Buen producto
Muy bien. Cumplió con mis expectativas. Solamente me quejo del embalaje o empaquetado, no tenia rellenos de protección y llegó algo tallado/golpeado. Gracias

Lots of carryover heat
I bought this due to my old range dying. I normally only use 1 burner, so this will get me by for the time. I unboxed it, turned it on max, and performed the burn-off they want us to do before the first use. I let it burn for about 4 minutes, then placed an 8" stainless clad pan on the burner. I poured in 16 ounces of water. I was surprised how fast the water boiled on the already hot surface. It got to a very energetic boil in about 3 minutes. I added another 16 ounces of cols water, it quickly came right back to boiling like mad. I turned it off. The water continued to boil for about 6 to 8 minutes longer. This style of burner element can be tricky to cook with as the heat doesn't end by turning the control off. Amazon was so fast delivering this, I was able to cook breakfast on it this morning after I ordered it around 7pm the night before. First, the bacon went in and it handily cooked it on low satisfactorily. I turned the burner off, and the bacon was still sizzling 5-6 minutes later. The big challenge here is if you try to cook rice on one of these. We are expected to boil rice for 1 minute, turn the burner to low, and cook covered for 25 minutes. This will still have water boiling in a covered pot 10 minutes later due to the heat retention. I had a range with these burners and rice was always difficult to cook on this style for this reason. Overall, I like this, and I have a rice cooker that plugs into the wall and nails it every time, so this hot plate that takes a long time to cool doesn't bother me. I believe that with quality cookware, this gets hot enough to do about anything.

Great at First, But Becomes a Safety Hazard
I've had this hot plate for four months, and at first, I really loved it. It heated up quickly, worked well, and was easy to clean. I did notice that the knobs would get really hot, but I didn’t think much of it since the whole thing is metal. Today, when I pulled it out to cook, I saw that all four feet on the bottom had completely melted. Then, while using it (because I still needed to), the plastic holding the metal temperature control knob melted entirely, and the knob fell off. On top of that, the hot plate struggled to maintain a consistent temperature—it would just shoot up to the max and stay there. I’m really disappointed because I enjoyed using it for the first few months, but it just gets way too hot. EDIT: I’m updating my review by one star to acknowledge that they reached out and offered to refund my purchase due to what happened. It’s clear they value customer feedback, and that means a lot to me.

Great hotplate and seller
This is an awesome hot plate for sure. Heats up very fast and boils water pretty quickly, which I was pleasantly surprised by. I especially like the left knob being an on/off switch and the right the temp gauge. Would definitely recommend bc the price is very affordable and the product is well made.

Bad internal connectors in our unit = short life
In general it's a well-built unit, with the standard crappy bi-metal thermostat that all units in this price range use. Though rated "1500W", mine draws a real-world 1366W (at 121VAC mains) which is within the standard allowances and not surprising, but good to know. (This is also typical for such units.) Usually the thermostat is what will wear out in a unit like this, but that's not what happened to ours. After only a month or two of regular use, our unit began to smoke from the dials and emitted a bad odor. The issue was that the blade/crimp connectors they use internally are flimsy, and after enough heat/cool cycles, they begin to lose their grip and arc, causing them to burn through the heatshrink. This is obviously a fire risk, though the unit is reasonably well-designed and I'd be surprised if it actually caused a fire. Still, internal arcing is not OK. If you are qualified, you might take a look inside your unit to make sure the connectors are well-seated, although even if they are they tend to lose their grip over time (I tried tightening them with pliers, cleaning and contact-cleaner'ing the blades, etc -- worked in the short term, but not for long.) I replaced a couple of the connectors with better versions, and so far so good, but it's annoying to have to do this so they can save .001 cents per unit. I hope they will (or perhaps already have) replace the connectors with a more reliable option. To their credit, it's easy to get inside the units to service them, but this is true for most burners of this type.

Severe Use, Great burner. Variable heat. DOESNT NEED INTERNET OR UPDATES!!! \o/
Great balance between size, portability and electric use. I have left it on for.. forever with nothing on it. I've spilled stuff on it repeatedly. I've use it basically way beyond i think even its design.... it replaced an oven and 4 burner cooktop for 100% of my cooking. I enjoy the thermostat and on off knobs. I have worn the ink off them but i still love them. It gives quite a bit of variability for heat. Works amazing with a huge 14-inch cast iron pan. The best part, doesn't need internet! No forced updates! Can't get banned from it for racism! Hahahahahahaha. GREAT BURNER! WORKS! THEN WORKS AGAIN! MIGHT EVEN WORK FOREVER! :D

As someone who loves cooking but often finds myself short on stove space, this little gem has been a lifesaver. Its compact design makes it easy to store when unused, yet it packs a punch for cooking performance. One of the things I appreciate most about this electric burner is its versatility. I can cook multiple dishes simultaneously without hassle with two separate heating plates. Whether frying eggs on one side, boiling water for pasta on the other, or simply keeping a pot of soup warm while I finish preparing different dishes, this burner has become an indispensable tool in my culinary arsenal. Another standout feature is the reliability and ease of use. The burners heat up quickly and evenly, ensuring consistent and delicious cooking results every time. The adjustable temperature settings provide the confidence to fine-tune the heat to suit any dish. Cleanup is a breeze, thanks to the sleek, easy-to-clean surface. The CUSIMAX Double Hot Plates Electric Burner has not just met but exceeded my expectations, becoming a kitchen essential that I can't imagine living without.

Actually powerful enough for a 4-hour roast (and big soup pots)
I bought this for a vacation where I had zero access to a stove, and I ended up using it for literally everything. I’m a bit of a stickler for power, and this 1500W burner actually delivered. The real test was a Miami roast. I was skeptical about a portable plate holding a steady low temp for a long time, but I left this on setting #1 #2 for four straight hours. The roast came out perfect tender and not scorched. It’s got great thermal mass because of the cast iron, so it doesn't just "flicker" on and off; it holds the heat. I also used it for big pots of soup and boiling water for eggs. Even with a large stockpot, it managed to get a good rolling boil going. It’s heavy-duty, stable (doesn't slide around), and the stainless finish makes it easy to wipe down after a messy cook. If you’re traveling or renovating and need a "real" burner that won't die after an hour of use, this is it. Pros: Serious heat, Handles big water pots without a struggle. Steady low end, Perfect for 4 hour braises or roasts. Solid build, Doesn’t feel like a cheap plastic toy. Cons, The cast iron stays hot for a long time after you turn it off, so just watch your hands.

Good hot plate got us through a stove change.
Our 32 year old oven stopped working then short circuited due to frayed, crumbled insulation on some wires. We ordered a new stove but it was going to take three days to arrive so we ordered this hotplate which arrived the next day to be able to do some simple cooking until the new stove arrived. This lovely little hotplate looks elegant and heated food efficiently albeit less forcefully than the old coil stove top. Then we got the new stove so this hotplate will come in handy to use at the table to keep food warm when we have burritos or fondu.

Simple and useful hotplate
The elements heat up evenly thanks to their cast iron covers. The elements take some time to get up to temperature, boiling 2 litres of water takes awhile. Good temperature control at lower setting for Eg. eggs.
