Works as advertised
Works as it should. First use it smokes a little on warm up. Let it warm up for 10 mins as instructed then started cutting the knobbs on a Dunlop AT81. Theres definitely is a technique to the angle of the cut, but once you get it down it worked well. Smaller knobbs cut earlier than the center knobbs. Let the heat do the cutting or your hand will get tired.

Not for truck tires. Might work for dirt bike tires
Does not cut big chunks out of truck tires, not hot or sharp enought. Might work on a dirt bike

Great shaper must be used with patience
A little hard to use, but does what it says it's going to. Just have to be patient when using it.

Works pretty good, let it heat up
So I think I figured out the problem people are having with this tool. When using on a hard compound tire, no problems...but when using on a soft squishy knobby tire, it works very slowly. I saw a video where the guy went back and forth in a saw like motion, that is the fastest way to get it to cut. LET THE TOOL DO THE WORK, don't bear into it. Overall I'm happy.

Works like a champ!
After this thing warms up, it cuts pretty easily. I did make the mistake of putting it on a loooong extension cord and it took forever to warm up. Once I realized that, and put it on a shorter heavy duty cable, it heated up well. I cut up my knobby in about 1/2 hour. Can't wait to see how my cuts effect the traction.

It does not cut like the video shows. But it works, with alot of pressure.

5 star if u do 2 small things.
1. Wrap some tin foil around the bit just below the tip, as shown. This will greatly increase the temp at the tip. 2. Use a tool file or screw driver top scrap the tip clean from any burnt rubber or oxidation. Do this as needed, fairly often usually. 3. Don't forget to turn it off when not in use, the tin foil makes it heat up fast and it now glows red hot inside the foil. :)

Wasn't thrilled with this! Not hot or sturdy enough to get job done!
We ordered this to cut my son's dirt bike tires and save the life of the tire. It really doesn't get hot enough to do the job. It took a lot of arm power and pushing to get it to cut through the tire. We sent it back because it would've taken a year to do one tire with this product. :(
