Worked for SunStar 520 SSR O-Ring chain
Used this on a SunStar 520 SSR O-Ring chain. It worked well and was easy to use. Only took a few minutes. Seems like a good value for the price.

This worked great! I followed the instructions pretty carefully and this tool did a great job of pressing on a 520 chain master link so I could attach the retainer clip with ease. I've tried this in the past with ad hoc tools and it was a real pain and took 30 minutes. With this tool I had the master link installed and secure in less than 5 minutes.

always a good product for the tool box

It works.
It took a little fiddling to get things lined up, but it worked like a champ. It's also compact enough to carry with me should I need to do maintenance on the road. I'm happy.

Great cheap chain press tool
I have a lot of cheap chain press tools. I thought my more heavy duty ones would be better but I keep coming back to this one. Anyone who's replaced a chain knows these tools move around the link when you try to use them. the ones with two holes that you're supposed to push the chain link pins through are ridiculous. This one has a slot so you don't have to line up the pins EXACTLY PERFECT when pressing on the master link. I forgot I had this tool and was struggling using one of those cheap generic chain breaker tool sets. I remembered I had this one too and it did what I had spent 15 mins trying to do with the other tool set in 1 minute.

Did the job, but is too small for me
I bought this along with a cheap chain breaker tool to change out chain on a KLR650. I am going to invest in some better tools because the chain breaker itself broke right away. But that is another story. This chain press tool did what it was supposed to: press the side plate down on the posts far enough to install the chain clip. It was a little bit difficult for me to figure out how to work it, but just follow the instructions carefully (included) and you should be good. Once you use this thing once, you can probably throw away the instructions because you are not likely to forget how to use it.What I didn't like, and what makes me want to buy a different tool, is the force required to get it to press the side plate down enough to allow installation of the spring clip. The little hex key provided doesn't really offer great leverage, and I didn't have anything longer in my tool box. My friend is stronger than me and was able to tighten it enough to work, but I was having trouble on my own.

This is a must have tool for installing clip-type master ...
This is a must have tool for installing clip-type master links. You'll want to get a longer hex-key wrench than the short one that's supplied. I used a large pair of channel-locks to hold the tool while I was compressing the master link. It really worked well.

It doesn't split chains.
I am returning this product. It doesn't split chains, only presses a master links plate on. I never use pressed on master links. On top of everything they shipped me two of the pieces of junk...

Not much to saying about it other then it does the job kinda hard to keep it still tho really it wants to move around but like i said It does its job it would be better if it hade a lock case that u screw around the tool so it doesn’t move on u it’s a good little tool tho
