Little Tikes Big Digger Sandbox, White

What a great little sandbox! We recently purchased this for our son's 3rd birthday, and it's been a very solid investment! For a little guy obsessed with trucks and construction, it's a perfect match. He now has a "sand plant" that he works, and in the 2 months that we've owned it, it's easily gotten 75 hours of use! It's small. Don't expect several kids to get in it, it's not that large. This is a bonus for me personally, because he (with parents or friends) can gather around it and play, but not come away with sand in unmentionable places. But be warned if you're looking for one that kids get inside and move around, this isn't the one for you. I love that it has a lid, I'm secure in knowing that cats roaming the neighborhood won't borrow it. The fact that the lid also becomes part of the play area when off is fantastic in my mind, and truly raises the value. Be aware that it's not on hinges, it slides over slots as both the lid and when you attach it to become a ramp/road for the truck. All of the extra tools and the truck it comes with are a very nice bonus. The crane is so much fun for him (and me!) and I expect that he'll continue to play with this for a few years at least.

This is very small, not recommended for more than two young children tops. My two year old grandson loves it! The lid is a tad tedious to get off and put back on, but I love that it fits so tight and keeps pests and dirt out of the sand. The tools and toys that come with it are fabulous and very well made. It’s too small for my little guy to get into so no sand in his clothes to deal with and it’s the perfect size for him to reach into and play with. Recommendation to manufacturer - the little “cups” on the outside are dirt and rain collectors and should be removed. I hate having to scare frogs out of them, dig out leaves, etc and worried about mosquitos with the rainy season about to start. I’ve not figured out why they were put into the design as the little shovel and rake don’t fit into them and I can think of no other purpose for them.

This is by far the best value for a sandbox. My three year old sits in the base so he can really dig!! The blue part comes off and acts as a ramp for the included dump truck. My 9 year old and 3 year old love this feature. The scooper or digger arm works great to load up the dump truck. The accessories - two digging tools, two figures, two cups, a dump truck and the digger arm make this a terrific value. We have placed it under the trampoline a month ago and it is doing great. It is sturdy, hard plastic and has definitely taken a beating with my two boys. The only thing to be aware of is that the screws to attach the digging arm are packaged between the two cups. I called since I could not find them but they are packed in a small bag between the two cups. It is fully assembled other than attaching the digger arm. I would highly recommend this since it is well made, fun, sturdy, a good size for 2-3 children to play with, and it comes with a good amount of extra pieces. Happy digging!!

My grandson loves construction vehicles and loves this sandbox with excavator. The box comes with lots of additional toys perfect for sand play. My only negative thing is it's a little on the smaller side. It works for us because we live in a condo and have limited outdoor space but it would be nice if it was as a little larger. Very durable and easy to clean.

We got this for a Christmas present for my son. We put about 25 lbs kinetic sand in it along with some smaller construction equipment toys. We planned to put it in the shop, but have actually left it in the house for now. The plastic is sturdy and well designed for this purpose. It is not overly large (not large enough to sit in and play), but is great for 1-4 small children playing with their hands. The lid removes completely and can be used to extend the play area with a ramp to drive the dump truck that comes with it. It also comes with the “digger” on the box itself, 2 construction workers (like the little people characters), 2 scoops, and a shovel. It may have come with more, but I’m not positive now. One thing to note is that the lid does not seal completely or “snap” in place. It securely sits on top and is sturdy, but would not keep bugs or small outside particles from coming in. A child is unlikely to be able to get the lid off unassisted, but there’s now way to shut it entirely. It says it will hold much more sand, but 25-40 lbs is probably all I would put in it so the child can actually play with toys inside the box. Larger boxes were much more expensive and less feasible for our needs, and smaller ones were more expensive actually. Great value overall.

My son loves this so much ! Perfect sandbox for ages 1-3 as it is kind of small overall. It took 50lbs of sand to fill sufficiently.

My 2.5 y/o is big for their age (super tall) and loves to use this sandbox as a step stool, trampoline, and chair. No cracks or white creases in the plastic so far and I bought it months ago. The sand compartment is pretty deep, so you can fill it to your liking and avoid spills. I even put water in it and it worked great as a little splashing pool. The digging arm is easy to attach, but hard for little hands to take apart. It is also pretty sturdy (my kid loves to jerk it around and also drags it around by the arm). I try to keep it out of the sun to avoid fading, but it hasn't shown signs of fading or cracking from being in the sun during playtime. I appreciate that the sandbox came with a Black figurine so I didn't have to purchase a separate toy (you get 2 figurines). Finally, it fits great into small spaces. During winter, I kept it inside without sand and my kid loved using it as a toy box. I definitely recommend this product for the price and for its quality.

So when I ordered the sandbox, it was supposed to arrive in 5 days. It arrived within 2 days, and I was really excited for my boys (3 and 4) to play with it. It’s a little on the small side, but it’s ok for us because I chose to put it on the back porch so they could play in the shade. It seems to be pretty sturdy, rugged plastic, And it came with enough small toys for both if them to be happy. As my boys love all things trucks and diggers and any kind of sand or dirt, I’m certain they will get an amazing amount of playtime out of it this summer. I’m very pleased with this purchase!

Durable Little Tikes product, perfect if you don't have a lot of room & the accessories that came with it can help stimulate little minds! Grandchildren use water, sand & other materials inside the box. Very happy with it!

I haven't actually seen it . I had it sent straight to my grandson and it's not going to be opened until Christmas.

I ordered this toy for two year old twin boys- they loved it! I was told by their parents it was definitely the best present they received. Much better than a basic sand tray- lots of bits to entertain any child!

We bought this as a gift for our friend's son and he loved it. It is very large and sturdy.

overall really nice sandbox, perfect size for when you have limited space, the lid closes well too with rivulets dents to stop the lid from gathering stale water. The only down side is that the claw cabin makes removing the lid and putting it back on a fight so you'll probably end up taking it off/not using it
