Better than I thought
I've been around the audiophile community long enough to know that it's full of snake oil and placebo. On the one hand I know that soundwaves can interact with different materials in different ways, so going from velour to lambskin could definitely have audible effects on the sound signature, on the other hand alarmist reviews like "it destroyed my soundstage and imaging" come off as the typical alarmist audiophile hypochondria whenever you deviate from communal best practices: in this case that OEM pads are designed for the headphones and therefore the only good pads to use. Unfortunately I needed new ear cups for my hd6xx again and I was personally a little fed up with paying $50 for $5s of material that will last, at best, 2 years of routine use and, knowing I could just return these to Amazon if I didn't like them, decided to just pull the trigger. The earpads arrived in a basic, no-frills box. My first impressions in-hand were that they felt nice and seemed like real leather. Got them installed and upon putting them on-head I immediately noticed that the headphones had regained some comfort and my ears now had some space, both lost to the OEM cups flattening and losing their shape over time. The material is very comfortable to my head. My ears do feel slightly warmer but it's pleasant and the fact that they're no longer pressed against the driver is a significant improvement to comfort. So far so good. Plugged them in to my Cavalli Tube Hybrid amp and began streaming some hd music I was very familiar with from qobuz to my smsl su-9 dac. The sound signature was different, but not exceptionally so. More v-shaped, with more emphasis on the top and bottom, but it certainly doesn't sound bad. Soundstage and imaging were still fully present, as opposed to what others have described. I've spent over a week with them at this point; I've listened to hundreds of songs as well as watched films and played some games and...I really like them! The changes to the sound signature weren't nearly as dramatic as some reviewers made it out to be, and still what I would describe as great, while the comfort is improved over the OEM cups. Additionally they feel like they are better quality, only time will tell if they are, however at half the price of OEM pads even an equivalent amount of use out of them would be an improvement.

A very fine choice for replacements.
I purchased a pair of headphones brand new back in 1997, the Sennheiser HD 535, and listened to them for about three years late at night while my wife was sleeping. I was working a second shift job at the time and firing up the stereo after midnight wasn't an option. After about two years I upgraded to the HD 600 and a year later my son, who was just learning to stand up and who was quite curious at the time, got his hands on them when I left them on my desk before heading off to work. At some point they found their way into the bottom of the dishwasher and went un-noticed until after the dishes were done. Needless to say it didn't end well and I was back to using the 535's again. Several years ago I got more into using headphones and currently own several pairs (nine). The 535's had begun to decay and I thought I had tossed them years ago but I located them recently and decided to repair them because I really had enjoyed them. The earcups needed to be replaced so I bought this pair of $29 ear pads. I also replaced the headband padding for $9.50. The system of adjusting them was non-functional but at the smallest setting fit my head perfectly so I used two zip ties inside the channel underneath the headband padding. They no longer adjust but they fit my head perfectly. The complete repair cost under $40 compared to the $80 cost of the Dekoni pads I recently put on my HiFiMan Sundara. They are still a very nice sounding headphone, which came with the surround sound processor too. I still have that and have never used it. So what have these pads done to the sound signature? Well to be honest it's been so long since I have listened to them that I can't be certain, but they still sound excellent. I don't notice any drastic change in the top end; the treble is clear and crisp without being harsh or sibilant, there is an airy quality to it which is quite nice. The midrange is clear and lush (it's what Sennheiser does best), while the bass is tight and controlled, presenting itself with authority without sounding muddy. They still do soundstage quite well. I wonder how many of these remain. I wouldn't hesitate to give these earpads a try, especially if you have a situation like mine. I purchased a second pair of HD 600's about 5 years ago and will stick with Genuine pads for those but I wanted something less expensive that would sound great, be easy to install and clean, and be comfortable on my head. These pads checked all of those boxes AND they are well constructed to boot! I am very much pleased with them. Welcome to the herd of headphones, 535's!

Really happy so far. I just hope they last.
Update Oct 2024: Just hit the one year mark with these and I am sitting at my desk using headphones every day. They look pretty much brand new. I was expecting they would peel or the seams would break eventually, but they are perfect. So much better than the gross cloth pads for the 58x and I don't think it did anything to the sound signature. These are great. Original review: Used on 58x headphones. I wish I had done this a lot sooner. I still had the original pads, and had been washing them once or twice a year. I was worried about changing the sound but I only noticed a slight change at first, if at all. The headset looks and feels more premium versus with the original pads. I hope this material won't feel as grimy as the cloth pads that absorb moisture. These feel nice and soft in hand, wearing them they are maybe slightly less soft than the originals (but those were broken in), or just the different feel of the material against your head. They installed fine and do not pop out as long as you seat them all the way in. I will be totally happy with these as long as they don't start flaking or coming apart at the seams any time soon.

Great alternative/replacement to the original velour pads
Much more comfortable and great sounding earpads for my HD58Xs than the original ones. The leather over velour definitely helps a lot more with raising the bass out of them more but seems to squish the soundstage a bit. I also find that high notes and treble sounds a bit less uncomfortable for me and perhaps dulled down but I'm not very sure about that. Either way - great pads. Will see how long they last compared to the original velour ones that maybe lasted a year before getting VERY flat on my big head.

So much comfortable, but change sound signature a little bit
The original velour pad on my 6xx makes my ear itchy. Was looking at various sheepskin options. Bought Dekoni leather earpad for my other headpones before, was a little surprised to see them charging $70 for this. Glad this cheaper alternative is available, and it seems to have great workmanship. Real leather simply feels better on skin, and they don't break down like pleather (can't believe Dokoi is charging $60 for pleather). Other reviewers are correct that they change sound signature a little bit. The sound is warmer, slight drop on treble. Details are still all there. For me, the sound change is not a bad thing. My HD6xx sounds and feels more relaxed.

Absolutely Worth Getting
Like many have said, these do change the sound of the HD660S to some degree. For me, at least, it's not a dramatic change and not objectively worse, just different. But the fact that they change the sound at all could be considered a negative since you're probably spending hundreds of dollars on these headphones to get a particular sound. Sure. Fair enough. Everything else is only positive though. I was never a huge fan of the stock velour earpads even when they were new. In general I personally do not like fabric type earpads, I prefer leather or pleather, but the velour ones are particularly scratchy and stuffy feeling. They also accumulate dust and cat hair like crazy and are hard to clean, AND they flatten out over a surprisingly short span of time. I was buying a new pair every year because they just flattened out to a point where they were no longer comfortable, but if not for the ridiculous price of new pads I would've changed them every 3 months. These are super comfortable. Not sure if the foam will flatten out like the stock pads, but even if they do, they're a third of the price.

Good price, but changes sound dramatically
I can't take off stars, because this *is* a good product. It's $20 cheaper than the OEM replacement velour pads. I needed a quick replacement, so I decided to give them a shot. They are comfortable and built well. However, there is a *BIG* caveat. These absolutely change the sound signature of the HD650. I got these headphones to enjoy the wide sound-stage and accurate representation across the board. I play competitive games and listen to classical / symphonic music. Sound-stage and accuracy is of utmost importance. These pads are NOT meant for either of those things. You lose sound-stage, and you lose accuracy while receiving a pretty substantial boost in mid-bass. Very warm. I don't think it sounds *bad* by any means, and it's getting better as I sit here and listen to them, but they don't really work for 95% of my use cases. I will keep it around though and put them on if I want to hit some bassier tracks. Side note: If I'm going to spend $50 on the OEM velour pads, I decided to spend just a little more on premium and will be testing out the Dekoni Velour Pads.

Not Great, There's Better Options.
These fit my Drop HD 6XX, but the material just doesn't work well with these headphones. The softer material of the original headphones is there for a reason. It's just way too firm while somehow also not fitting snuggly on my head. I'd consider any other soft material earpads. Like the ones with the "cooling gel" in them.

Increased comfort while keeping similar sound signature
I have had two different sheepskin leather pads for my HD650, and this is probably the one sounding the best. The other two have a smoother surface, while it does seal better, it does change the sound signature quite a bit. This one, with more creases on the leather, made it quite more breathable and having a closer sound signature to the original velour pads. Not to mention that they are affordable! I hope they will last longer too.
