I don't understand why there are different types if they taste the same.** A: Taste may vary based on topping and popping method. Popcorn pops in different sizes and some are crunchier than others. And, the amount of hulls varies by variety. **Q: Do you really need a special container for popping it in the microwave?** A: No, you can use a microwave safe container/bowl to pop popcorn in a microwave. You will just want to have a container that has a lid on it so you don't make a mess in the microwave. We have several people that use a glass bowl with a lid to pop their popcorn in their microwave. **Q: Can these kernels be popped in silicone, microwave bowls?** A: Yes. That is what I use. Instructions advise power level 7 or 8 for microwaves over 1000 watt. I have found that 5 works best for me.
