Seven Potions Men's Natural Pomade — Natural, Water-Based, High Shine, High Hold Hair Styling Product — 100% Vegan, Cruelty Free (100ml)

Marketed as a "premium" pomade, this does do what it says on the tin, it's just not as good as I expected. I paid £15.97 at the time of purchase and although I will use it, there are plenty of products on the market that do the job at around half the price. Pros: Smells great, gives hair a fair level of hold, washes out easily, can be easily restyled with a little water, vegan friendly and cruelty free (though I haven't researched that), good for pompadour or slick-back styles. Cons: A little too pricey, hold could be better, nowhere near a "high shine", need to use a little more than usual for desired results.

Long hair is back and for us older guys (erm, well north of 50), hair can get a bit thin and dry, so it's fly-away and difficult to control. I've tried gels, putty, oils - but I've found them either very sticky, or greasy, or they just don't work. This Seven Potions is different - it's not greasy, but holds fine hair quite well (nothing stops it flying in strong wind). It isn't sticky. It washes out easily. It goes in easily and brushes or combs through. It smells great, without being overpowering - just a nice "clean" smell. I've now got this on repeat order because it is the best product I've come across and my search for a good product to use on longer hair is over, I reckon. I've been using it for some week now and still use it every day.

I wanted to read an in depth review of this product but couldn't find any, so I thought I would give it a go. I thought I would bite the bullet with this product as I have been looking for a hair product that is made from natural ingredients and washes out easily without feeling really sticky/greasy. Firstly I would like to say that I do not regret my purchase at all and will definitely be a loyal customer to the only one (that I know of) in this niche market. I opened the box to find a slightly smaller tin than I would have hoped for with the prices but I thought if it lives up to its other promises of being good for hair, easy to wash out then I don't mind. When I first tried it I realised you really don't need much at all (I use about a squashed pea size). When I put it in it went a very long way but I was very dubious about how easily it would wash out. However, when I washed my hands it came off very easily, and after using soap it didn't leave any sort of residue I have experienced in the past with hair products. Throughout the day it stays restylable and still doesn't really leave any sort of hand residue, doesn't feel at all greasy like some pomades, and gives plenty of hold (I have straight blonde hair). It sits in the middle of shiny and matte from my experience (where shiny is using gel/hairspray) and doesn't have a heavy feel. The smell isn't anything special for me but I could understand some people would love it. The product stays in the whole day without drying etc. I wash my hair with water before bed and this removes most of it, but I personally can feel there's a little bit left over, but not enough to warrant anything deeper, and not enough so that you could visibly see there is product in there. I only wash my hair with conditioner and I find that this removes as much of the rest that I would want it to. It feels like there may be a few oils etc left afterwards but I personally think this is a good thing as it acts like a moisturiser. I think I read in the product description that it is good for your hair, and I can confirm to the best of my knowledge and feel that my hair actually feels healthier after using this, plus it feels like as well as keeping my hair healthy I think it is keeping my scalp healthy too. Based on my usage I hope this tin will last me a few months. Although for all of the benefits that come with this and the fact that it is genuinely natural, plus coming from a small company that seems to care, I wouldn't mind if it only lasts a month. I hope more people catch onto this product, just try it, there's nothing to loose apart from a little bit of money. In reality, it isn't a big price when considering it is maybe once every two months (although I would love to see sales etc every now and then).

This is a top product and it's a good hold and not to high a shine. You can smell the bees wax, but it's a really good hold without greasiness. Try it, I always bought the sea salt prestyler.

Makes your hair greasy after the first use doesn’t really hold I wouldn’t buy again I needed to wash my hair properly to get it all out

The description for this Pomade states " Delivers a refreshing scent of bergamot, ylang-ylang, and sandalwood; a refined blend with afternotes of musk and overtones of sweet citrus." Unfortunately there is no scent!

Congratulation to the people who developed this product, it’s a winner. I have tested a lot and this pomade is perfect for me. Nice shiny look but not too much, keep air style as you want but hairs remain flexible, wash easily, don t give your hair greasy look. Smell excellent scent of vintage Classic but I like very much . Please don’t change the formulas, it’s perfect as it is. Price is above average for this kind of product but quality is there so it’s ok to pay a bit more. Thanks

This has become my mainstay pomade. Quick and easy to use, works on a variety of styles, especially slicking back. Smells great and washes out easily. What's not to like!

Ich bin von der POMADE absolut positiv überrascht! Die Pomade ist mineralölfrei und besteht aus natürlichen Bestandteilen. Meistens können mich solche Pomaden in der Performance dann nicht so überzeugen. Diese hier jedoch schon! Geht sehr angenehm aus der Dose, läßt sich absolut leicht verteilen, gibt dafür aber erstaunlich guten Halt. Kein Halt wie die rote DAX oder die Murray's Superior, aber diese Pomade soll ja keine feste/harte Pomade sein. Der Duft ist okay. Ich find ihn angenehm und er nervt mich nicht. Besonders toll ist, das die Pomade nicht zu einem fettigen Look/Gefühl führt, auf der andern Seite aber auch nicht zu einem stumpfen/trockenen Look/Gefühl wie bei einigen Matt-Pomaden/Clays. Haar und Kopfhaut fühlt sich extrem angenehm/gesund an und man hat einen seidigen, sehr natürlich wikenden leichten Glanz/Schein. Keine Chemie, auch kein Mineralöl. Läßt sich einfach auswaschen. Die Dose gefällt mir extrem gut! Angenehme mittlere Größe, aus Metall, Schraubverschluss, tolle Farbwahl und elegantes Design. Wirklich rundum gelungen. Ich bin sehr positiv überrascht. Deswegen schreib ich hier auch dieses Review .... ich hoffe, die Firma kann sich mit diesem Produkt lange auf dem Markt behaupten. Wäre schade, wenn das Produkt verschwinden würde! Kaufempfehlung meinerseits!

Exactly what I was looking for, I wanted something that was healthy and looks great for slick or messy textured hair. It definitely is a great product and reworkable and lasts. My hair doesn't frizz after a day of work. It’s a great cream and it’s got a nice smell. Somewhat Easy to take off before beds too maybe a bit shampoo.

I feel good putting this in my hair and it doesn't feel super greasy or dead the next day like the effects some products have. The smell is not strong, it's kind of like hand cream. Actually the consistency is kind of like hand cream too, it's very easy to work in yet it holds very good. A couple concerns would be the ceteareth-20 which is the 5th ingredient. If their source is high quality then there's nothing to worry about however if it is impure it can be contaminated with 1,4 dioxane which is carcinogenic. The other concern is the ingredients/quality of the essential oils they're using. The last two ingredients are fragrance(essential oils) and sandalwood essential oils. Regardless I feel safe using the product as relative to previously used hair gels and pomades this product is the cleanest I have used. Previously I have used typical brands like reuzel, l'oreal, etc. which are not organic and certainly contain questionable chemicals. For like $26 its a really good pomade and seems really clean. I haven't found a better one for the price/quality so this is my new go to product.

Advertised as natural but look closely at the ingredients- loads of junk. Have returned this and will never purchase again from this brand.
