Personally, I would feel pretentious if I wore an expensive designer name after shave to work. I am not a doctor, lawyer, or CEO. I work an average job. And I need an After Shave that works without being pretentious. The Proraso After Shave Lotion fulfills that role. This is a good year-round product. It has a cooling effect on the skin. The scent is light and cool. It will give a momentary sting if you have damaged your skin during the shaving process. However, the sting is mild and goes away immediately. This is a good way to give yourself feedback in terms of your shaving technique and the method of hair removal that you are using. I use an electric shaver; therefore, I rarely experience the micro abrasions that those who use a blade would normally get. I do still get the rare in-grown hair from time to time. And when I get careless and shave against the hair growth, yes, I may get slight irritations. The After Shave tells you how much micro damage you did. The lotion immediately calms the skin. I like the fragrance. It is mildly energizing as well as refreshing. The scent is not at all over-powering. I would say it is suitable for all occasions. It does what good after shaves do. It protects from infection, calms the skin, and makes your face feel cooler. It works well all season but particularly useful in the summer. The lotion evaporates fast and cools the skin. As I said in my review of the Williams Lectric Shave lotion, "you could pay a lot more for another product and get a lot less." The same truth applies here. You get a lot for your money with the Proraso.

I really like this, it’s bright and fresh with out the standard cologne smell that’s in nearly everything. It is the best aftershave. It lets everyone know you clean in the morning and doesn’t linger and make you, “that guy”.

The shave lotion comes in a classy, sturdy glass bottle, with easy twist off cap. The menthol fragrance is subtle and wont overpower a cologne. The lotion feels soothing on the face but will mildly burn if razor nicks are present. A little lotion goes a long way, so one bottle lasted me several months.

I'm so very pleased to have the opportunity to comment on the Italian Proraso after shave and the full line of Proraso Italian shave products. First, I truly enjoy a wet shave. For me, it transforms the morning shave from just a daily routine to an enjoyable morning experience. It feels good. I begin with applying warm water to my face, then the Proraso pre shave. It feels great and establishes a smooth surface on your face. And has a great aroma. Then apply the Proraso shave soap with a shave brush spreading the thick lather over your face. Feels great and has wonderful but mild aroma. Then the shave, followed by an application of the Proraso after shave. This will leave your face feeling great and with a wonderful manly aroma. Absolutely the very best way to shave. A great to start each day.

After a lot of experimentation I've arrived at Proraso green as my aftershave of choice. Like all Proraso products, the price to performance ratio is unmatched. This stuff smells and performs as well as anything twice it's price. When applied to freshly shaved skin the first thing you'll feel is that familiar alcohol burn. It's not as intense as other brands but it will let you know if you were a little rough on your face during your shave. That burn quickly gives way to a nice tingle that then turns into an ice cold menthol blast. Your face will be almost numb and any razor rash will be stopped dead in it's tracks. Those with an aversion to menthol will want to avoid this, it's a real eye opener! You won't need coffee after a jolt of this stuff in the morning! If you overdo it it can be pretty intense but if your shave technique is sound and you don't drown yourself in it you'll be rewarded with a nice icy cool tingling feeling. The smell is great as well. It smells very fresh and clean. The menthol and eucalyptus is present in the aroma and overall it just has a nice clean and fresh scent. It's hard to describe an aroma in print but suffice to say it smells very green! Like any good aftershave the smell settles down nicely after a short while so you won't reek like a used car salesman and it shouldn't interfere with your cologne of choice. Myself, I don't wear cologne because I'm a chef and perfume is frowned upon in a kitchen. I love that I can enjoy the effects of a quality aftershave as well as it's great scent knowing it will dissipate enough before I get to work. The scent doesn't disappear entirely mind you, you just won't reek to high heaven. Someone would have to get close to really smell it. And speaking of that, my wife loves the smell too! It also has wonderful moisturizing properties for an alcohol based splash. After it absorbs in it feels like your skin was moisturized with a creamy type lotion. No drying at all like a lot of splashes. After a dose of Proraso aftershave my skin feels healthy and grateful. Treat yourself to something nice an pick up a bottle!

Long story short, I'm 58 years old and have never had a better shave in my life, ever, than with Proraso shaving products. I recently stumbled across Proraso when the shaving soap I normally use was sold out on Amazon and boy am I glad I did. It is an amazing experience to use such high quality shaving soap and products. From the pre-shave cream, to the tubed shaving creme, to the after shave lotion, never before have I enjoyed such a close and comfortable shave. The pre-shave cream is amazing and sets the stage for a perfect shave. It gives an initial "freeze" of menthol and eucalyptus that invigorates and provides a base lubricity that really helps your razer glide. The tubed shaving cream is absolutely opulent in texture. So smooth and velvety, a pleasure to use, and a real luxury. The after shave lotion not only smells great but leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth. I like the fact that the scent doesn't linger as I have cologne that I use if I wish to "wear" a scent. I use the "Refreshing" blend and love the menthol and eucalyptus properties of these products as they make shaving a pleasure and leave my skin in excellent condition, feeling great. I am definitely a Proraso customer for life!
