Installing Windows 10 with a genuine key - Guidance
I stupidly first bought Windows 10 Pro OEM disk off Amazon - under the same 4.5 star product 'Amazon's Choice' there were a number of buying options and being none the wiser I chose the cheapest - WRONG. The product key had been used before. Having now thoroughly researched the best way of getting Windows 10 I can offer the following advice.1) If your PC has previously had Windows 10 and you have swapped your hard drive for solid state drive or had to reinstall Windows 10 you will already have a key linked to your motherboard - you do not need to buy another Windows 10 key. You can get a nice fresh up to date version of Windows 10 - 1709 - by using microsoft's own create media tool to create a boot/install USB - when you do the install you will be given the option of Windows 10 Home or Pro.2) If you have a new PC or just a new motherboard you will need to buy a license to be compliant with Microsoft license. Do you need Home or Pro - Home will do for 99% of consumers - you just will not use the extra features and cost twice the price.3) Media - USB or DVD - I have found it easier to install using USB.4) OEM or full retail - OEM is linked forever to one motherboard - if you upgrade you will need a new product code. Full retail can be transferred to another machine and you can ring microsoft support for help. If you are going the whole hog and installing Office 365 why not just have the complete deal.5) Source - there are any number of people offering cheap Windows keys - Microsoft is pretty sharp these days and Amazon user reviews are full of people complaining about being ripped off - including me. Basically you may get lucky and save some money or you may not - if not you are going to end up paying more than you need to and have a lot of hassle - I lost the best part of a day trying to install/activate my cheap copy of Windows. You do not need to buy Windows 10 - you can get the latest version with all updates on a USB stick direct from Microsoft using create media - it is 100% genuine, up to date and costs nothing. All you need to buy is a key - the cheapest/quickest way of doing this is via Amazon - I have a prime account btw. As soon as you buy the key it is downloaded into your software library in your account - no keys getting lost in email junk folders. I bought an office subscription 2 years ago and the key is still accessible in my account software library. I just copied the 25 character key from my library and pasted it into the Windows key activation window and it was accepted straight away without any fuss. This was £30 cheaper at the time of writing comapred to the Microsoft online store, Scan or PCworld - other reputable outlets for genuine Windows 10. If you see an unbelievable price for Windows 10 there is a good reason - it is probably not genuine or the supplied key has been used before. Avoid alot of hassle - download an uptodate version direct from Microsoft for free and then just buy a genuine key online to activate it instantly. Amazon confusingly mixes up the online activation with a USB key version which is cheaper under the same item BUT USB STICK IS FROM A DIFFERENT SUPPLIER. ALL THE ONE STAR REVIEWS REFER TO THE USB VERSION OF THIS PRODUCT - DO NOT BUY THAT -GET THE GENUINE PRODUCT KEY ONLINE DIRECT FROM MICROSOFT/AMAZON FOR ALL THE REASONS ABOVE. Hopefully this will save you some of the aggro that I went through trying to buy a cheap version of windows. BTW I have happily used OEM in the past to save money but Microsoft licensing seems sharper these days and if you install Windows 10 Home versus Pro you really do not save much going down the OEM route.

A Legitimate Key That Works Instantly
If you are looking for a legitimate Windows 10 key which you can reuse in the future, then this is the perfect choice whether you are going for Windows 10 Home or for Windows 10 Pro. If you are planning to use this activation code within your Windows 10 installation media, or going to later activate your Windows after it is installed, then this code should work instantly with no issues. Personally, I had already installed Windows 10 on a new PC I built, and later purchased this code in which I used to activate Windows within Settings > Updates & Security > Activation. After entering the code my Windows was activated instantly. Moreover, the key will be saved within your Amazon account under “Your Games and Software Library”, as well as being emailed to you. So, it will always be easy to access the key if you need it again without having to write down the whole key by hand and keep it safe.As far as the differences go between this key and an OEM licence; the OEM licence is one to avoid as it is very limiting when it comes to switching out hardware. OEM licences get locked to your motherboard as the licence key gets stored in the bios. As a result, if you switch your motherboard out you will need to purchase another key. Furthermore, the differences between the Home and Professional editions of Windows 10 are often questioned. It’s safe to say that for the large majority of users, Windows 10 Home offers more than enough for your needs, and Windows 10 Professional will offer no real benefits; unless you need it for a specific use.Overall, this is a perfect option to get a legitimate Windows 10 key that will have you evade the hassle and uncertainty of finding dodgy keys online somewhere. The code works perfectly, and is conveniently stored in your Amazon account so it can always be accessed.

Over 5 years, a legitimate Windows 10 license works out at less than 5p per day! Bargain!
"You're crazy! You're buying a license?" - that's all I heard from friends of mine. I however, worked in digital security and I am very familiar with ways in which some people obtain Windows. I'm also familiar with the fact that they are often not only illegal, but riddled with trojans, viruses and malware which often lay dormant and undetectable whilst siphoning off your data - scary, huh? Well, it's all too real. If, like me, you want peace of mind that you're buying a genuine, safe product, then look no further. Microsoft have said that Windows 10 will receive continual updates and they've stuck to their word; updates regularly happen, usually on "patch Tuesdays" as they're now known, so you can be content in knowing that this software will continue to be supported for the long run.So, what are you buying here? You're buying a license. There is no retail box, no disks, just a serial number which allows you to legitimately use Windows 10 home. You get the option between 32 and 64-bit operating systems. Essentially, if you have 3gb or less ram, you go for the 32-bit variant. If you have 4gb+ of ram, you go for the 64-bit operating system. The license you're buying here lets you have both and you choose which to install. Neat!So once you get your license, you will be provided with instructions on where to go and what to do in order to download the Microsoft Windows 10 operating system. If you're like me, and you have a slow internet connection (upgrading soon!) you may find it takes a while to download Windows 10. The update is approximately 4gb which is quite large; if you have a fast internet connection, you shouldn't have any issues. I simply used a USB stick to install Windows 10 Home on, and the instructions I followed were simple to follow. I created what is known as 'bootable media' which means that you can go into your BIOS and select your memory stick as the first device to boot from and your Windows 10 installer will begin upon your next boot.Once installed, Windows 10 said it was activated. I had no trouble setting it up and I think it's fairly straight forward, although if you've not done it before, you're best asking a trusted family member. I'd be wary of asking an IT shop to do this install for you, as you should be very careful who gets to see your product key/serial number, for obvious reasons. Overall, I think it's a bargain. £84.99 for a legitimate Windows 10 license. That's £16.99 per year over the course of 5 years (and you could run this forever if you really wanted). But sticking with the 5 year cycle which I plan to do, that works out at less than 5p per day! Bargain!
