The Art of The Lion King

I didn't realize it was the "miniature" book when I was ordering, of course I was surprised and disappointed when I received the package, but it was my fault. Make no mistake, this is a beautiful book, you get all the artworks from the normal edition, but no text on the making of the movie - because of the size, they've done a good job since it is such a small book bringing all the artwork and it has text explaining the story. It's an art book combined with storybook. Definitely want the gigantic book for the complete experience.

I love this book. It has lots of beautiful art that I haven't been able to find anywhere else. It doesn't have many actual words in it though, mostly image captions, but it doesn't bother me. I usually feel overwhelmed with everything the typical art books try to throw at you. I think it is an excellent book with a lovely cover and I would highly recommend it for any Lion King fan.

The book is good, it’s just that it’s more the story of the film told through concept art rather than the progress of how the movie was made.

The book was a little rough around the edges, but considering it’s an old book I am beyond happy with it. Might even take it to the grave with me, ao thank you for such a smooth and careful delivery. Definitely a recommendation!

I'm a huge Lion King fan, so for me, this book is like the Holy Bible ! It was even bigger than I was expecting it to be, the sketches in it are really magnificent, and it's awesome to know they are authentic because drawn by the Lion King makers. I'm not disappointed at all, I recommend it to all the Lion King fans who wish to see how Disney's greatest masterpiece was made.

Apart from the fact that my copy was close to pocket size, i thought that this book was fantastic. Not only does it come filled with amazing concepts, it also is accompanied with the Lion King Storyline. As an illustrator and student animator, it is a wonderful addition to my resources. The sketches through to the complete full colour images are for any Lion King fan, artists or just someone wanting a beautiful coffee table book. If your from overseas like myself and cannot get these kind of books in Australia, i reccommend Amazon and their associate stores. Buy this, its great.

Le roi Lion est l’un de mes films Disney préféré et ce livre m’a permis de me replonger dans cette histoire que j’aime tant. Un livre grand format, très bien détaillé avec de nombreuses photos et croquis des différentes scènes, personnages du film, permettant ainsi de découvrir tous le processus de production de celui-ci. Vraiment superbe, pour tous fan de ce magnifique film.

I thought this book would be full of beautiful illustrations but instead its aimed more at actual film makers. Found it quite dull and so sold it on.

El producto llegó en buen estado, bien embalado y sin daños visibles. La cubierta y las páginas interiores estaban correctamente conservadas. En cuanto al contenido, The Art of The Lion King ofrece una amplia recopilación de arte conceptual, bocetos y diseños de la película. La calidad de impresión es alta y permite apreciar el trabajo artístico detrás de uno de los clásicos más reconocidos de Disney, con ilustraciones muy llamativas y variedad de estilos. Como punto menos positivo, el libro tiene poco texto explicativo y se centra sobre todo en el aspecto visual, por lo que puede resultar algo limitado para quienes busquen un análisis más profundo del proceso creativo o del desarrollo de la película. En conjunto, es un libro muy atractivo para fans de El Rey León y del arte de animación, ideal como pieza de colección o para hojear, aunque menos indicado si se busca una lectura extensa o detallada.

A wonderfully thick, heavy book full of beautiful behind-the-scenes art and inside voices on one of my favourite animated films, and one of Disney's best and most original. Arrived in good condition for its age. The pages are excellent and the book itself is good (barring a dent and out of place markings along the back edges). Most of the damage was in the dust cover (bending, fading on the edges, a taped tear on the spine), but its to be expected for a 30-something year old book. For all book and Disney Renaissance lovers, I'd highly recommend this!
