great "custom" production knife made in the USA
info from Ka-Bar:The Snody Snake Charmer is a 6.5" neck knife that does just that, while beckoning to the roots of a similar past offering from the company, the bird and trout knife. Each knife comes with a custom-designed Schmuckatelli Co. bead, 550 cord, and a molded hard plastic sheath.stamped KA-BAR/Snody MADE IN USABlade length 2-5/16"; Overall length 6-1/2"thickness: 0.125" / 3.175mmS35VN Stainless Steeldrop pointhollow grindHRC 58-62Edge Angles 20°info from me:it was love at first touch/sight with this baby. it is velvety smooth, muted satiny polish is beautiful to behold and a pleasure to feel in the hand. the edges that are in the palm are relatively rounded. the knife is light, though long, i will sacrifice "comfort" in carrying in this case because the length is *why* this knife is so comfortable to hold. it fits my hand perfectly.the sheath (USA made) is a unique design, though the color is less lime green, more pea green. i don't know why they chose this particular shade, black would've been cool with me, but whatever; it holds the knife, the knife doesn't jiggle about. it is easy to deploy the knife from the sheath.the 8' of paracord included is of high quality, nice stuff, finished on both ends. (admittedly, i don't know if it is manufactured in the USA)the lanyard bead (also made in the USA) is from SCSkulls.com - check em out if you make lanyards, they have some badass skull beads. the bead is pretty heavy and nice - one could easily build it into a lanyard - it is obviously machined with paracord lanyards in mind.over-all very happy with my purchase, if i had not already bought the knife, i would do it again and again. no regrets.

Unique design, excellent quality.
Knife came quickly. Almost looked used but with a little effort it cleaned up quite nicely. Blade not terribly sharp but sharp enough. Sheath takes a little getting used to but it is a clever design and works well. I have not had a chance to use it in the wilderness. I am 5'10" and 170lbs. I think the knife is a bit long for a neck knife. I am going to shorten a chain and I hope the shortened length helps. For a neck knife, I think they could shorten the handle one finger choil. I really like the pinky ring at the end of the handle. The ring really makes the knife feel secure and it seems it would be difficult to slip the front finger onto the blade by accident both because of the ring but also because of the index choil. Hole is large and therefore easy to put one's finger through. I would say I have medium hands (guessing) and the grip feels excellent. Good thumb jimping. Blade is ground dead straight. I bought the knife as a last ditch defense knife rather than to use regularly. I think it will work well for my purposes. I think it would also work well for small camp tasks like food prep and cutting cords, etc. even though the blade is small. I am going to keep the knife. It is high quality and an interesting design. I would recommend the knife to others and would buy it again, and buy it from the vendor.

Well-designed, unique, small knife
My wife got me this knife as a gift. I really enjoy it and wear it on a cord around my neck. The pros: It is beautiful and ergonomic. The loop is large enough for my thumb or any of my other fingers. It feels great in the hand despite being bare steel. The sheath is built in such a way that very small children aren't likely to get it open, which is a big plus for me because I have small kids. The blade keeps an edge well and sharpens easily enough. The cons: This isn't a "tactical" knife. It takes a second to deploy and the blade is two inches tops.It is great if you are looking for a well-designed, unique, and small utility knife. Not great if you are looking for a weapon.Update: I have carried this knife every day for about two years and have loved it. I have to wear a shirt and tie to work and this knife goes on a length of paracord around my neck and under my button-up dress shirt. It is easy to slide out between my buttons whenever I need it, feels lovely in my hands, and has been extremely useful. Unfortunately, I brought it camping with me this last weekend and it went missing! I feel naked without it around my neck :(

Save your money
Full knife is long but the blade is super short. The circle at the end of the handle doesn't line up with the rest of your fingers so you'd just hurt yourself if you tried to actually use this for self defense, plus it doesn't come out of it's sheath easily either. I don't know why you'd use this as your EDC, there are many better knives, both folder and full tang for EDC. If you're looking for a last ditch knife check out Ka-Bar's TDI Law Enforcement Knife for half the cost

Interesting design and steel but, not comfortable in hand.
I purchased this knife due to its finger loop design, s35VN steel and quality sheath. Upon arrival I found this knife to be one of the most uncomfortable in hand knives I have ever used, with several hotspots. I wear XL size gloves and my hand fit on the handle but the knife was not properly rounded and was just uncomfortable. I gave it three stars for design, sheath and steel but took two stars away for comfort of use.

Bought as new, box previously opened
Bought as new, but the box arrived with exterior scuffs and was taped shut. The interior packaging was also taped, so it looks to have been previously opened and resealed.

This is a great addition to his collection
Bought this as a present for my husband. He has a knife addiction. This is a great addition to his collection. It is like a karambit with the hole one the end. The handle is thin but does have grooves for your fingers. The sheath is green and is awkward. Once you figure out how it works then it is easy to take the knife in and out of the sheath.
