Great lights, we experienced a quality control issue though
edit: Light & Motion took good care of us and repaired the broken light / replaced the charger for $0. In the two years since, they've both been rock-solid. Changing my rating from 3 to 4 to reflect the excellent customer service and the reliability of both units since then.---One of two gets five stars. The second gets one. I've selected the average for this review. We've had one of these for around two years, and one for around a year. The first one is still going strong, but the second one stopped accepting a charge - and destroyed its charger - after about five months. They get used a couple of times a month and weren't left charging all the time, so the newer unit's death is a mystery. They're great lights though, bright and easy to use with thick gloves on, and they last a long time. Great as a spotting light for photography or simply as your light on night or cold water dives.

Great primary light
Bought this as my primary instead of a canister. The only drawback is the battery life, but I found myself using the 400 lumen setting more often than not, which lasts about 2 hours. The wide angle beam is excellent - consistent white light that really lights up wrecks and other overhead areas. The spotlight setting isn't nearly as good - more of a yellow beam. The hand sock works well and is comfortable enough. The only thing I'd suggest to the manufacturer is to alter the visual settings for battery power - instead of green/amber/red on all three LEDs, why not the standard three/two/one LEDs to indicate charge remaining? During my dives I sometimes wasn't sure if the remaining power indicator was on amber or red. Otherwise a great light, unless you're doing more than two dives in-between charges.

and also how it fit nicely to the wrist
This light is expensive, but worth it. I noticed a friend was using one when we were diving in Monteray California, and couldn't help but notice how bright and compact the light was, and also how it fit nicely to the wrist. I purchased this on Amazon and took it with me to Palau, and was very satisfied with its performance, ease of use while diving, and again compact and out of the way leaving your fingers to operate other devices, super bright with several illumination and spot settings. It is nicely built, high quality, and good looking. Would highly recommend.

Great light when diving
Great light when diving. Great burn time. Underwater this is probably one of the best lights in terms of vision.I don't like the indicators - The LED goes green, yellow, red, flashing which should be good, except I find that it is already at yellow below 75% to be annoying - I think it should be green down to 50% THEN change colors. Also it is finicky as all get out to charge and maintain. You have to keep aintaining the charge between dives or it loses battery life. The charger is kind of OK but I am gong to be honest - it is sometimes hard to determine if it is charging properly or not.

You light up my life, and that nudibranch.
I used this Sola Dive Light on a recent trip to Ambon, Indonesia, and was extremely pleased with it. Instead of investing in an expensive, bulky strobe setup for underwater photography, I got this with a hand strap and simply angled my hand to provide optimum lighting. (Please do not try this unless you have extremely good buoyancy and won't come crashing down on the reef and your subject!) The light held its charge quite well, about 2+ hours of almost continuous use at medium or high setting. Although this dive light isn't cheap, it's a really great value for the money. Small, bright, efficient. Everything it needs to be. It also comes with a safety lock to prevent potential fires from accidental activation during flights. The price went down $100 to $399 almost immediately after I bought mine. I was quite bummed by that, but it means a better deal for anyone buying one now!

Night Dives are my Favorite now with my Sola 800!
I didn't care much for a night dive before I used a SOLA dive light that I borrowed from another diver. Now I love night dives so much, that I didn't just buy one SOLA dive light, I bought a 2nd one for video too. No other dive light compares for the price!

Awesome Light
This is a great light for night diving. Already one of the guys that I dive with has ordered one and a few others are contemplating buying one. It is great having the flood and spot options. One of my dive buddies told me that it was hard for eyes to adjust using his light after I would shine my light his way. I highly recommend this light.

Light gift
This was gift for a scuba diver. He seems thrilled with it so far. Says it is just what he wanted. Sorry, I can't say much else.

Sola is not a serious company. I have bought a Sola Dive Light top of line 3 years ago and it stopped working from nowhere. Support just told me they don't have parts for it.

Outstanding!
Used on two week trip to Palau and Yap - love this light! Locking lever prevents accidentally turning it on and switching between flood and spot is a simple, quick click - as is...
