The base is heavy and so really stable. Was easy to put together, except for the very top piece, which was a little bit tricksy... Meaning, you have to line it up absolutely precisely and push down until it catches on the piece underneath. However, once you do get it together it's not going anywhere. Regarding the top piece, while I'm on it... You should untangle the chain, if necessary, so that it looks like the photo I provided. Follow instructions for the shade and you have a REALLY lovely old-fashioned standard lamp. Looks exactly like the picture and matches with my antique couch and chair perfectly! One word of warning about the polystyrene packaging. It WILL go everywhere. I was really careful, and it still made a mess, BUT it's very safely and securely packed, and the end product is extremely worth it!

This floor lamp is exactly what I was looking for. It's heavy and stable and looks very expensive. It was super easy to assemble - just take your time when lining up the pole parts to make sure it stands straight. It was packaged with Styrofoam - a little messy with the cleanup, but worth it, as all the parts arrived undamaged and intact. I'm using it in a dark corner of my living room, and using a 15-watt bulb, it gives off a soft and pleasing ambiance to the room - just what I was looking for. The price is easy on the wallet too. All in all, I'm VERY happy with this purchase and highly recommend.

Overall, I really like this lamp. The base is nice and heavy - important in a household with a couple boisterous cats! It was very easy to assemble - the help of another person was not required, nor were tools. Although the base of the lamp is nice and heavy, the decorative parts of the lamp near the bulb felt cheap; however they do look nice. I thought the lampshade was well made and its design clever; however, it is out of proportion for the lamp. Fortunately I had another lampshade on a table lamp that was too big for it, so I swapped them out. Very happy now with both lamps! I would have given it five stars if the shade was better proportioned, but really can't complain since it resolved my other problem. The new lamp seems to work well; I bought it to replace another lamp that seemed to be shorting out. So far so good!

This is a fantastic lamp without the fantastic price tag! It is absolutely gorgeous and pictures really don't convey how great it looks in person. The lamp arrived VERY well packaged and had instructions on how to put it together. I did not use the instructions because it was very self explanatory to me. All the pieces screw into each other and you really can't mess up. The lamp is great quality and I did not find any defects or issues even after close inspection. It does not come with a light bulb so make sure that you get one separately. Depending on the bulb of course, but it provides a very decent amount of light through the shade. So far, there's not a single negative thing I can say about this product and I think this is an amazing value for the price. We're actually going to buy a second one for the sake of having symmetry in the room. Definitely recommend this product.

I thought this was an acceptable pole lamp. It was tall and looked like it would fit in the space behind my reading chair. It was attractive, and appeared to be solid construction even though it was not a premium product. When it arrived, I started to follow the instructions. The first three pieces of the pole screwed together easily. Then one pole piece was bent at the threads. I put some oil on the threads but it still would not screw together. Disappointed, I phoned an Amazon help center who said they would send me another one, but to wait until the label arrived to send the first one back. I boxed that one up, but I have not received the other one. That was a week ago.

When I first saw the box I was wondering where the lamp shade was. It's there...folded up. The shade actually unfolds to a nice sturdy lamp shade. Assembly is so easy I didn't use the instructions. Once assembled it is a very beautiful antique looking floor lamp. The pull chain not only looks good, but is very functional and adds to the charm. I would buy this product again.
