Great NAS hardware at a good price
Really good NAS with an easy to use OS, simple storage pool setup and great VM and docker support. Set up was quick. The system is slightly noiser than the QNAP TS-251B but is much quicker and has more memory. Adding NVMe drives is easy, as is changing the RAM. Even in the recent mini-heat wave (where ambient hit 30C) the drives stayed around 39-40C whcih seemed reasonable. The native app choice is quite limited but with docker, this isn't really an issue. I use docker for Emby as the main media server so don't know how the native apps compare but Emby was a really easy install.I bought it at a reduced price and for c. £260 I don't think there is a better NAS chassis available...

NAS and home server!
So much better than I expected. The included UGOS software is excellent, really easy to manage your storage and shares on the network. The added bonus is the ability to use docker which means you can install all sorts of server software like Plex, Jellyfin, Syncthing and Nextcloud - Turning your NAS into a fully fledged home server. Low power, low resources, everything just works great. All managed through the desktop app on your PC and there's also a phone app. Build quality and packaging are also first class, your drives just click into place no screws required.

A brilliant NAS
I've wanted something that acts as both a day to day storage and backup for photos and phone data which is why I delved into NAS. After looking at synologys offerings I was disappointed as even the most basic versions were expensive and seemingly quite cheap quality and so I was put off. Then one day I saw Ugreen, a brand I have come to love launched a Kickstarter for a NAS line up. I was annoyed they were only available to Germany and the US but I assumed one day they would do international and now they have. I immediately grabbed the 2800 and a couple 4tb nas drives and have it all setup in RAID 1 and I have to say that there are very few things that I can complain about.Pro's:- Very good build quality, almost entirely made of thick aluminium with no creaks or loose parts.- Great design as it's somewhat futuristic (An item from the Halo universe comes to mind)- I/O offerings are great on the back and front, with USB-A & C 2.0/3.2, HMDI and 2.5gb ethernet.- Software is clean and easy to use providing all the important features for users use cases.- The mobile app feels similar to the desktop version and works just as well- The TV app available from the NASync website is again clean and picked up the NAS instantly providing it's video contents straight away without any hassle and showcases the films very nicely.Cons:- The CPU even under a light workload (around 20-30%) likes to hover around the 72 degree mark which is hotter than I would expect it to be. This however does not affect drive temperatures which stay around 30/35 degrees.- Due to the high CPU temps it's means the exhaust fan will ramp up and down to vent the heat and it does so quite aggressively, something I hope an update will fix one day.- The TV app although works great when setup was a bit tricky when it came to installing onto my google tv chromecast as you have to download and install the apk file. best option is probably to turn on developer settings (to allow 3rd party app installs), download a browser on the Chromecast itself and get the apk saved locally. In conclusion, Ugreen offer something for everyone and what they do offer is very good, I would highly recommend it if you're thinking of investing in a nas yourself.

simple set up, some streaming issues
very straight forward to set up, very competitively priced, great build quality and the added bonus of additional m.2 slots. Its been flawless with pc and android devices but experiencing difficulty with smart tv. cant be seen? have googled for solutions with no success, ensured its on same wan, ensured upnp enabled on router (ASUS ac168c) still cant see nas on smart Samsung or lg smart tv? have asked for support but not received reply in last 24hr. I will persevere but this is presently why I have dropped the 1 star

Easy to setup
Easy to install drives, 2 nvme, 2 hdd. Fairly easy to configure using ethernet. I wanted to locate it some distance from my router but that was easy using TP-Link RE220 WiFi Extender Booster with Ethernet Port. After a while decided to replace the old 2TB hdds with 4TB ssds using a pair of ORICO 2.5 SSD SATA to 3.5 Hard Drive Adapters. No problem fitting these and setting up to backup from the nvme to ssd drives.Installed Docker and learning how to use it. Experimented with adding extra external drives using USB ports, straightforward. Also shared the NAS with windows, Mac mini and RasPi5, works.Very happy so far. Good value for a well made bit of kit.

Impressive
Very impressive. UGREEN are new to the NAS market and so don’t expect a fully functional OS like Synology or Qnap. However saying that UGREEN has done quite a good job in their initial offering with plenty of regular updates.I particularly like the fact they include dual Nvme slots that you can raid (or use singular as drives or a cache drive). That way I can run my docker containers and VMs on the faster Nvme’s and store my media on the slower HDD NAS drives. There are few apps and it’s a shame there is no native Plex app. Although saying that I can run it in a docker container and that makes it easier to transfer/backup if I ever need to migrate or recover. In regards to performance it is extremely quick and the N100 far out performs the older Synology 224+ celeron chip. 1080 and 4k transcoding is easily handled.Overall I am very impressed and the only downside is there is no encryption at the moment so hopefully they will implement in the near future. I wish they would also include a cut out for a Kensington lock for those who have a need to secure the device where physical security is not possible ( like running in an outside office or garage).
