Disappointing and Overpriced
The biggest issue with the Hume scale is reliability. The app almost never syncs properly. To get a single measurement to register, I often have to open the app repeatedly, toggle Bluetooth on and off, and retry multiple times. Even then, it might sync once out of 15–20 attempts. At that point, it stops being a “smart” scale and becomes just a very expensive regular scale that shows weight — because that’s all I can consistently access. For a product at this price point, this is simply unacceptable. The whole value proposition is seamless tracking and data syncing, and when that core function fails this often, it makes the experience frustrating rather than helpful. I’ve used much cheaper smart scales that sync faster and more reliably. For the amount of money spent, this is easily one of my worst purchases. If reliability and ease of use matter to you, I’d strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Won't Complete a Scan
I was really looking forward to using this body pod, but i could never get it to complete a scan. I attempted to use it about 12 times on two different days, but it never completed a scan. I kept getting a red X in the app. I unistalled & then reinstalled the app, but that didn't help. I was really hoping this would help me & my husband, but i cant use it if won't complete a scan.

When it works its great, but it usually doesn't
After the first day of using the Body Pod, I have to reset the device every morning for it to connect to my Phone. Every morning I need to flip up the scale use a pin to reset the device before it will connect. I've tried every troubleshooting technique I could think of; restarting my phone, removing and reinstalling the app, updating my phone, removing the device from the app. Nothing works, every morning if I want to use this rather expensive device I have to reset it. Now obviously there is something wrong with the device and I would have hoped that when I contacted customer support, they would have assisted me, after two emails from them with stock questions they have ghosted me. I've sent two more follow up emails with no response. If Hume would have simply helped with my issue I would not be giving such a low review, but CS especially on a new product and one that they claim with a 5 year warranty, least to say my confidence in the company is very poor at the moment. Furthermore, I left this review on there website and it does not appear. They are hiding any negative reviews.

Great product
The app was easy to install and it’s working great. I think I may get the Hume watch next. Great product

It is good, but now has issues, measurement failed error.
Great scale... but only worked for a few days. Now - no matter how moist/wet I make my feet, it just keeps saying "Measurement failed" And it is super annoying. Even the first Hume body pod that my bestie Jessica got me from Hume directly during Christmas didn't work eithter from the beginning, even now says the same thing. Hume is working to troubleshoot and help those that have issues but... I don't know what'll happen. Accuracy? I'm not sure how accurate compared to DEXA it is, but comparing to another scale I got from my bestie, the fat numbers are close, last time it worked. Pros: • Looks nice • Initially works • Numbers seem accurate compared to one other scale that I have. Some cons: *does not work now – says “measurement failed” just like the first Hume pod I got… Got buggier each day I used it, it seems. Hume is taking a while to fix it, but hey! Hopefully I’ll get a fix or answers/replacements soon. 😮💨 I'll update with progress if any.

Fails to update -- does not work more than 24 hours.
When I received this it worked fine out of the box. But now, 24 hours later, it will not record any new stats. It is connected to my phone and appears to be gathering data, but it does not display the updated stats in the app. And, like all things app driven, there are no troubleshooting directions, and no human being can be reached to ask questions of. I sent an e-mail to Hume for support, but if this is like other high-tech, AI driven firms, I doubt I will receive any human help. When I reported my issue to Hume Health, I received an e-mail response to my issue that directed me to reset the scales and re-install the app. It worked the first time, but the next day, failed to update. I purchased this to have a convenient means of saving progress. But, since this product does not update, I'm back to "dumb" scales and a writing my results on the calendar. Another piece of hi-tech junk, long on marketing, short on customer service. Returning it to Amazon today.

The scale loses connection with the app and has to be reset every other day!

Broken device even after a 2 hour charge. The pod wouldn’t even read my measurements or sync to the app. Bluetooth fails to connect.

I think the accuracy of the scale is questionable. It has my muscle mass about 2kg higher than the InBody machine at my gym, and about 1kg lower in fat mass. Overall, this skews my body fat percentage by almost 2%. It could be that the InBody machine at my gym is inaccurate, but since that’s what I’d used in challenges, etc. I participate it, that’s my benchmark. Also, if you drink a couple glasses of water, this scale increases your muscle mass by a similar weight. The app is also a bit problematic. It doesn’t sync activity with apple health, though it should. If you search online, this is a well-known problem that has yet to be solved though Hume is aware of it. This means the app gives you a perpetually low health score, which is displayed in big numbers at the top of the home page screen. Obviously, you can ignore it, but it’s not very motivating. I’d only suggest this scale if you’re ok with a devise that is consistently inconsistent, which may be fine if only this machine is how you’re gauging your changes in body composition, and if you don’t care that you may see a poor health score if they never fix this syncing issue.
