Upgrading the saddle or nut can greatly improve the tone of your guitar, however sizing can be difficult. Even the right piece will require sanding/filing to fit your specific instrument. But this seller offers saddles for many common guitar brands which makes it much much easier. It's quite possible you'll need to further adjustments. I only had to sand it down shorter to accommodate my undersaddle pickup. Now my 214ce sounds like a dream.

I wanted to replace the stock saddle in my 214ce DLX with bone and lower the action a bit as the stock one was higher than the supposed factory setting of 5/64 at the 12th fret. It was more like 7/64. This saddle fit the slot perfect as is. All I had to do was sand down the bottom until it was just a tad shorter than the stock one and pop it in with a fresh set of strings. The wave compensation appears to be identical to the stock part as well. Not sure that I notice a difference in sound but it sure does look better and plays better now.

This is a high quality bone saddle. The fit in my Taylor Baby 3/4 acoustic guitar was appropriately tight. I sanded down the thickness just a bit, reduced the length a smidge, then reduced the height of the saddle significantly to get the action low. It was easy to do for a rookie. I used 220 and 600 grit paper. Looks great unpolished, but even better polished after my luthier installed a MacNichols nut, which he polished up along with this saddle. The guitar looks and sounds great vs the origininal Tusq and micarta parts. MacNichol Customer service is first class. Contact by email is flawless.

Great product for my Taylor 414CE. I had some question before purchasing but talked to customer service and he gave me exact dimensions and they were spot on. Only adjustment I did was sanding the bottom down slightly to my desired action height. I noticed improved resonance immediately. Fast shipping also. Thanks....

I had to get used to the different tone produced with bone, but I do like it. Have never done this before, and I still have a little fine tuning to do. I think once I have it absolutely correct, I will swap out with the TUSQ compensated saddle and try and compare the audible difference. I suspect the bone will be warmer, but not totally sure.
