Sennheiser Consumer Audio Compatible with Sennheiser EW 172 G3-G-US instrument EW system

This replaced my 20 year old wireless instrument mike system that still worked but was limited to about 60' distance and while good sounding you could definitely hear that it was not absolutely identical sound to a wired setup.. With the new setup I can go a very long distance...200' at least in my testing, The sound is identical to a cabled setup and you can even use setting to duplicate different lengths of cables (which do make a difference in the highs) if you are so inclined. I use with a Roland electronic (MIDI) accordion for stage performance. Works extremely well. Small size, nice solid lockable connecting cable device. No drop outs or unwanted noise. I love that it can turn off the RF transmission when you want it ready to go but not using up the batteries. I play a bit of classical guitar and since it has a built in tuner on the receiver that is a nice feature. It uses 2 AA batteries...no proprietary or hard to find batteries.....and battery life is excellent. You can get a rechargeable pack for it however, I use my own Rayovac rechargeable batteries and they work fine and still give a long life. I also bought a over the ear type condenser mike system from another company that plugs into the same transmitter. I stayed way from the Sennheiser mike as I see lots of reviews that say the cables are delicate and often fail. I also have the Sennheiser wireless unit that plugs into any standard dynamic or self powered condenser mike. That allows me to use all of my many standard hand held mikes wireless.
