Base Business Face Primer, Illuminating 400, 1.0 fl Ounce

This is honestly the best primer I can find. I’ve bought quite a few others, even the more expensive ones and literally nothing has been as effective as this product. Creates a blur effect, smooths fine lines fairly well and is just all around the only reliable product of its kind- is dependable for results. Not too thick, barely any scent. It drives me nuts anytime I’ve tried out another product (especially the high dollar ones) and they were a complete let down and a waste.

Love this product. Makes my foundation blend better and therefore I use less saving money. It eases redness. I do not have extremely red skin but where I have redness it helps make it less noticeable.

I love pairing the Illuminating with the Color Neutralization (green) primer. I use the Neutral under my eyes and then the Illuminating on my cheekbones, chin, and central forehead. I really can tell a difference when I use the primer or not once I apply my foundation. My skin feels softer and my skin tone seems more blended and the same all over my face. I’m very fair skinned - boarder line glow-in-the-dark - so I love how the Illum gives me a little glow. Anything to help my ghost face.

Primer works great, smooths out and allows makeup to last.

Having been a devoted fan of a particular really good (Smashbox) primer for YEARS, I have decided to branch out & try some more reasonably priced options. And I've tried quite a few, in many price ranges. Cover Girl, you've hit the nail on the head with a low priced, good primer. At just under the $5 range, it provides a smooth surface for makeup application. It's very light weight and comfortable to wear. It's not cakey & feels very much like applying a moisturizer. Observation 1: I have to use more of this than I do my normal primer. Not excessively more, but definitely more than the dime sized amount I was used to using. Observation 2: Water based & silicon/oil based primers are different. Your foundation ingredients must mesh with your primer ingredients. This primer is no different. It works much better under a tinted moisturizer or CC/BB cream. The results when using under a more substantial, full coverage foundation were not good. I had to remove it & start from scratch with a silicon based primer. Again, ingredients of each are important. I knew better and it's no fault of the primer...100% user error. I have worn this alone, with no makeup and it helps to even & smooth small imperfections. It has pretty good lasting power too. Be prepared for a touch up if you are a "wear all day & into the night" make up person. Conclusion: For an everyday, go-to primer, this one CG is an excellent & very affordable choice.

I'm not a make up expert, I barely wear any and don't wear it at all if my face is cleared up enough. But I do have very red-prone skin and old blemish spots hang around forever. Sorry, but this does absolutely nothing for the redness, doesn't tone it down AT ALL. I think maybe it works well as a primer, but again, I'm not a make up expert so I don't really know how it compares to anything else.

Definitely would recommend this product. It did what it’s supposed to do and it’s not drying. It is very lightweight coverage, but it covers the red in it neutralizes it. would recommend.

i have natural red undertones and tend to blush a lot without meaning to, so i went with this green color, oh and to cover hickeys, but aside from that this actually protects your skin very nicely from letting the makeup get your pores dirty, i love it !! and i’ll definitely get this again when i run out
