Knit Prayer Shawls: 15 Wraps to Share

This book has a lot of interesting shawls. I have already started knitting one.

This book wasn't up to the regular standard I expect from Leisure Arts. Some of the directions were confusing and there is no number of stitches for the pattern. I frequently expand the width of a prayer shawl and it's much hard without the pattern repeat. That said, I've made one of the shawls in this book. It was an interesting pattern and the shawl was very nice.

This is a beautiful little book of Knit Prayer Shawls--most of them being intermediate and experienced. They show the person who made the shawl and the person who got gifted with the shawl. There is also some nice little sayings regarding the shawl expressed to the recipient. Most of these shawls are quite intricate looking and very original. And they are used for friendships as well as for Prayer Shawl Ministry. Also the person who knitted the shawl tells the type of yarn that was used. (i.e. Fine Weight Yarn; 3.5 oz., 330 yards) 2 skeins; 24" circular knitting needle, size 8 or size needed for gauge. So this little book of 15 Prayer Shawls tells you exactly what supplies you will need for each project. Quite a little treasure trove. JM

I was interested in this book because it said "Knit" patterns for prayer shawls. At first I was disappointed because I don't use the fine yarns that some of the shawls were knit with. But as I took more time to look at the book there are a lot of patterns that I can use with bulky yarn. Some of the shawls are so pretty and lacey, they would make a wonderful gift. I'm glad to have this book in my library to refer to.

I love to knit but this is only my second knitted shawl. I like this little book and as yet haven't chosen the shawl I want to knit. With a little experience anyone can do these shawls as Leisure Arts has designed a knitting book anyone with some experience in knitting can do. Good luck, and enjoy your knitting.

Another good book on prayer shawls. Well written, nice patterns and good information.

This book is spiral bound, so it lays flat while you are working from it. It is small, approximately 6"x9", so it fits easily in you bag to take along with you. It is also hard cover, a plus in my book! There are several shawls that I intend to make as gifts. Excellent directions. Very pleased with this book and would highly recommend to anyone that loves to knit.

Wonderful, truely beautiful book. I love everything about it. Its on a spiral and just small enough to fit into your bag. Beautiful.

An excellent book , well presented and easy to follow patterns. Have completed one shawl already and will certainly do more.
