We have a common snapping turtle and a painted turtle and these guys have burned through a $300 filter! After that we decided we were not going spend the money on expensive filters for them to break within 6-12 months. Bought this and its worked great for over a year now!

This is the best of 4 filters I've recently tried. It works the best by far. It's not small but fits better than the Tetra Whisper and is more quiet too. The turtles love the waterfall stream and so do.guests. It's easy to clean but pulling the 2 separate media cartridges can be a bit of a pain. My only complaint is I wish they slid in and out more easily.

This filter has kept my turtle tank clean. I have gone through 2-3 different filters previously. They do not clean well and they stop working. I have a 40 gallon tank and I can go longer than 2 weeks to clean it with this filter. I would highly recommend it.

I've had this filter for about year an a half now . My African side neck turtle ( Bowser) is in a 75 gallon tank . With this filter . It's an amazing filter . I paired it with a bubbler on other side of tank to push water to the filter. But it cleans great. not noisy at all not like my other tank . Filters are easy to change. I do have one issue that's why only 4 stars .I've had to put a bridge underneath to help support the weight of it . It pushes a lot of water when it's plugged in causing the suction cups to not really work because the weight of the water flow . Like I said though I just put a turtle bridge underneath it and suctioned the cups to the side and still working perfectly fine .. hasn't moved or came unsucktioned since .

I have a turtle tank. This has been the best filter for the tank in the 20 yrs I’ve had him.Keeps tank clean and it’s quiet.

I have three turtles of different ages and have tried a lot of filters over the years, but this one is by far the worst.First off, it barely cleans the water. My tank has never been this murky, and it’s really frustrating.Second, the design is awful. The filter doesn’t stick to the tank because, once it fills with water, it gets so heavy that it starts sinking. I had to prop it up on a platform just to keep it in place.Third, it’s unsafe for turtles. The current is way too strong, even on the lowest setting. My turtles get caught in this endless cycle where they’re pushed down by the clean water coming out, sucked back into the intake at the bottom, and brought up to the waterfall over and over again. It’s stressful to watch and dangerous for them.The only good things I can say are that it’s easy to set up, simple to clean, and pretty quiet. But those small positives don’t make up for how poorly this filter works or how harmful it is for turtles. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone unfortunately.

This item works great in my 55 gallon for my turtle.

So far this has been great in my turtle tank really keeps it clear and the flow can be adjusted. Love this I can turn it up to change water or make adjustments nd then turn the flow down.
