Mr. Super Clear UV Flat (Spray)

I'm a doll customization artist, and I bought this product so that I could draw new faces onto the vinyl heads of my fashion dolls using watercolor pencils. I have to say, this sealant works remarkably well. Before this, I was using Liquitex Matte Medium in an airbrush, because it was easier to access and less toxic. But if you've ever used an airbrush, you know what a pain it is to thin your mixture down appropriately, how much it clogs, the pain of taking it apart seven times and it still not working, etc. I was getting sick of it, especially in the cold of fall and winter, and because of how strong Matte Medium is, everything stuck to it, so much dust and hair.I decided to first try MSC in the middle of winter on days that weren't too cold. I made sure to store the can in a spot where it could be reasonably close to room temperature, shook it sufficiently, donned my safety mask and protective goggles (which are very necessary), and went to work. You have to leave the sealant to settle for about half an hour, then it will be dry and ready to work on. I've tried it in winter and spring, still waiting on summer and fall to try it there. Definitely spray this stuff outside and wear proper safety gear, as you should with any chemical product. Do be careful, your project may get dust stuck to it while the sealant is drying, so try to keep it away from dirty or dingy surfaces during that process. If I had any complaint, it's the lack of international instructions. I get it, it's hard to translate the instructions to multiple languages, especially on a small surface, but I could settle for more pictorial instructions either in a pamphlet or on the can itself.Pictured with this review is the first doll face I did with this sealant. For the record, his eyes and lips are varnished with Liquitex High Gloss Varnish for a little shine, the rest of him is matte because the spray is matte. The pencils worked like a dream, and he only took five layers to build up an opaque color. The spray does have a slight texture that's noticeable when touching it, but you really shouldn't touch it too much without gloves so that no skin oil gets onto your project. This sealant gave me the advantages of using pastels for softer coloring, something I could do easily with a matte medium given the nature of it. Overall, I'd recommend this product from this seller. They got it to me in a reasonable amount of time and it had no damage.

I do face repainting and upload to my Instagram. I always use this sealer for repainting.It has to shake well otherwise sometimes the matt surface is not evenly sealed.

This product work so good for doll customizing and drawing/painting faces in vinyl doll heads. Be warned it is toxic and you will need a respirator mask rated for vapor. General rule of thumb, if you can smell it you're not being protected from it. Toxicity aside I do recommend this product for vinyl doll customizing.

Great product . A must have for custom dolls but…. I found it way less at hobby lobby . Kind of disappointed I spent so much on it (I understand shipping etc) when I could have just popped into the store and found it .

It's cool, almost as good as normal MSC. It has a slight film to it but overall does what it says. It mildly changes the texture of kits and it's mainly noticeable in light but if you're leaving your stuff in the sun, it's a good spray protectant.Use this outdoors or in a well ventilated area with a mask though, it's toxic.

i did not expect the can to be so small, and on one doll repaint i might run through it because it is an aerosol. my next purchase will hopefully be multiple cans rather than one at a time since they take a while to arrive.
