**Q: what is this made of (if not steel) and where is it made?**
A: Thank you for your question! 
GatorBar is a composite rebar made out of basalt fiber and an epoxy resin system. It is similar to fiberglass rebar, except we use basalt fiber instead of fiber glass (basalt is higher strength). Our manufacturing facility is located in Ahmeek in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

**Q: Is this ribbed like rebar?  Trying to match the rebar used as patio railing for a gate to the patio.  Rebar is too heavy.**
A: It is somewhat but obviously not steel. It’s some kind of poly material, but definitely not rebar. I used it in a 4x4 slab and it has worked great for that application.

**Q: Is this product strong enough to use as a support stake, to go inside a 4ft piece of 3/4 pvc pipe?**
A: Don't know...I used it for its 'as designed' purpose in a flat slab. Classic rebar might be a first go-to thought for your application.

**Q: How much will I need for a 24x24 slab?**
A: For a 24 ft x 24 ft slab you will need approximately 820 linear feet, or 41 20 ft pieces. This is if you space the bar on 18 inch centers, so if you want tighter spacing you will need a little more. The GatorBar Kit will not be the best solution for you, but if you give us a call we can hook you up with a GatorBar dealer near you who carries 20 ft pieces. 906-934-2661 Thank you!
