A necessary part of training and completing my first marathon. I used one of these every 3 miles for any run longer than 12 miles and I think it’s a huge part of the reason why I was able to complete my first marathon in less than 4 hours. I also use these when backpacking, they helped me to summit mt Whitney. They’re light and sugary, I would highly recommend washing them down with water while running and not eating them on a fully empty stomach, definitely have some before race day . Based on my research at the time of my marathon in October 2025 these were the best quality for price in regards to quantity of gels and amount of calories and caffeine per pack. These were delicious flavors as well, having the variety is good for your mentality and keeps you interested. The salty caramel was pretty heavy taste wise

Im sure these do what they say they do. Provide energy and caffeine, but the taste is truly and impressively bad. They could have chose any flavor but these absolutely gross. I would have rather had armpit sweat and dog toe jam as flavors than these.

Dont buy if you dont like honey. Its an acquired taste but seem to give a good boost of energy was hard to eat at first but i like them now

A couple of things to note. The packets were double boxed and arrived with no signs whatsoever of damage, yet one of the packets was leaking gel all over. I cleaned up the mess and it looks like I only lost one pack. It was leaking at a seam, presumably manufacturing defect. Amazon gave me a refund, so no problems there. Now, on to more important issues. These just don’t taste very good. I started using GU energy gels first and wanted to try the other leading brand. GU offers more flavors, they taste really great, and cause no digestive issues. The Honey Stingers, both flavors in this box, taste something like honey with a bad aftertaste. The higher caffeine one tastes worse, maybe because of the bitterness of caffeine. They also cause a little bit of digestive unpleasantness (I use them on an empty stomach pre-workout). Not recommended. EDIT: several months later, I ordered another small box to give these another shot. Guess what, this box also arrived with one leaking packet inside. Seriously, two for two bad packaging! Downgrading my rating.
