I used on two half barrel wooden tubs containing Bamboo - one coat of this paint covered the wood and rusty metal bands perfectly, I didn't do any preparation . Easy to apply, quick drying, not much odour. I have done the two half barrels with a good coat and still have almost a full tin from the litre tin I purchased. Highly recommend this product.
