It is Pareve if that is any help. **Q: Do they have scales on them....bought the John Lewis brand and it had scales** A: Hi no they don’t have scales - best sardines I have ever bought! **Q: Are they bpa free? do they still contain the bones?** A: Yes It Is BPA Free. And ONLY My LAST Batch Contained Bones And It's My Second Time Ordering From This Supplier And Fourth Time Overall. And Even Though I Was VERY HAPPY To Have The Bones Included In This Batch And It Being The ONLY Time! However Most Of The Cans Were Bloodied Within The Fish And Even A Couple With Green Stuff Inside!! I Am NOT Sure That I Will Be Ordering Again From ANY Supplier, As One Can From Another Supplier Had Mould Around It, Even Though Thankfully The Contents Were Fine. It Suggests To Me That The Stock Has Gone Down In Quality Since I First Started Purchasing And That's A Shame!! Also Just To Note: The First Picture As Above, Is NOT Correct, As It IS The SAME As The Pictures For The Other Suppliers. Amazon Has NOT Changed It YET, Even Though I Have Mentioned It. However The Other Pictures Following The First One IS Correct And Shows 1300mg And NOT 1700mg.
