Overwhelmingly Positive Experience — I’m Stunned!
I’m stunned by the how incredible the Saros 10R is. I’ve been a iRobot Roomba customer for twenty years, and stubbornly stayed in Roombaland much longer than I should’ve. I finally switched when my last Roomba, a once-top-of-the-line J9+ Combo, fell victim to a known charging base defect that, once broken, made recharging impossible and essentially bricked the unit. Because I was just a bit outside of warranty, iRobot wouldn’t replace my charging / mopping base and offered me $150- toward the cost of replacing it outright from them directly, which they were still selling at that time for another $1,400. I jumped ship, rage-ordered a Saros 10R on the spot, and have never looked back. I’ve owned it for the last month+ and am just gobsmacked by how much better a cleaning machine this Roborock is compared to all the other Roombas I’ve ever owned (numerous models over years). My floors have never been cleaner as the vacuuming and mopping technology this machine employs are exceedingly better than my last Roomba. It just … *works* … does what it’s supposed to, properly, when you expect it to. No more weird ‘I’m stuck’ errors or ‘I’m lost under the dining table / chairs *again* and can’t find my way out even though I’ve been here dozens and dozens of times before’ problems. No more VSLAM technology slowly chipping and scraping the hell out of my expensive walnut furniture. No more being afraid to let it run while I’m away from home because something would inevitably fail with whatever scheduled cleaning it was supposed to be running. This machine is incredible. It is solidly built. It is easy to use and set up. It quickly accurately and effortlessly mapped my home on its first mapping run. Its obstacle avoidance is superior to any other Roomba I’ve owned, and works flawlessly. It avoids bumping into any of my furniture as it is sensitive enough to get right up next to table / desk / sofa / chair / bed legs and clean around them without actually connecting or coming into contact with any of them. It’s just … well, I want to write ‘perfect’ but as nothing can be truly perfect I’ll just write I am at a loss to list anything I have a quibble with. Plus, it’s almost eerily quiet compared to my last Roomba. I can barely tell where it is in my house without looking at the app or scouting for it when it’s working unless it’s very nearby. My dog used to run out of any room my last Roomba entered, but now he just glances at the 10R and continues napping or playing or whatever without fear. My husband complained pretty frequently about how loud our last Roomba was, and I now joke to friends the Saros 10R practically saved our marriage because it’s so much quieter when it’s cleaning. My household is comprised of two adults, one pretty fluffy medium-haired cat, one small short-haired dog, no children, and mostly hard-surface flooring with low-to-medium-pile area rugs and runners in almost every room but the bathrooms. It is brand-new construction and so is without extreme-door-sill or room-threshold height challenges, but I’ve seen my Saros 10R navigate over low-furniture barriers like the base of my console and coffee tables without any difficulty whatsoever using the AdaptLift Chassis feature — that technology is pretty impressive. I love this thing. So much. If you’re a frustrated Roomba owner like I was, or looking to upgrade your Roborock, don’t hesitate — the Roborock Saros 10R … ROCKS. Ugh, sorry. I couldn’t resist.

AMAZING! Kick the roomba to the door!
Update: July 8, 2025 I love this thing. Everything I said when I first purchased stands....times 10! My floors are finally clean! The game changer if you can afford- the spinning mop pads. The other types of floor washers just push the same dirty pad around. This goes back to the dock and washes the pads mid cleaning so you are not using the same dirty pad! Genius. Prime day...take advantage of the 300 savings...I have no regret buying for full since I have had it and been using it. OMG!!! Why have I been so "iRobot/roomba" loyal. The Roboroc Saros 10r is amazing!! It seems more thorough and so quiet compared the my roomba s9+. My last roomba s9+ was a total lemon/dud and iRobot customer service has gone by the way side unfortunately. At a time when the competition has increased in the robotic vacuum world, and when iRobot needs to step up and be what they used to be..they are dropping the ball. I still have my 4 older roombas/floor washers which still do their thing well, however when my newer S9+ died, and iRobot company looked the other way and ignored all the problems-I did a LONG and INTENSIVE research and my next purchase. My two top choices...Roboroc Saros 10r vs. the Dreame X50 were in the running. I have mostly tile with deep grout ditches which makes a loud robot movement and wood floors, so deep carpet cleaning is not my focus. Both are so similar, however reviews all over the internet/youtube videos had the Roboroc Saros 10r winning by a hair. My reason to go Roboroc saros 10r (I was really leaning to the Dreame x 50) was the use of the floor cleaning liquid WHILE washing. The Roboroc mixes it with the water in the tank which the robot works. The Dreame uses water for mopping and just uses the cleaner liquid for washing the mop pads. The fact the mop pads spin (irobot is a flat pad that just pushes the dirty pad around on your floor-then you have to remove and replace after every wash) when the Roboroc returns-it washes the mop pads with hot water!!!! I am watching the path this thing takes while it works and it is so much more organized than the roomba. The live view is great, I can tell my dogs through the live view to leave the robot alone (they harass and follow the vacuum around) and the robot will avoid them too. Go to youtube, watch all the videos. This robot so far is amazing and so much more advanced than the iRobots offered now. Very quiet, you can watch tv while it works! So far, the wifi connected right away and the app works great, but I am still figuring it out. It does not take up anymore space than my s9+ and looks really sleek. This will be my time saver as I have two big dogs, one being super fluffy and need to vacuum everyday. Plus I can mop more effectively with these spinning pads that will actually CLEAN my floors, not spread a dirty pad around. I will update if there are any issues-but if you don't hear any further from me let's just say this is a win and worth the $.

Unreliable vacuum, disappointing mop. Mixed navigation.
I really wanted to like thing this not especially after having an awful experience with a different >$1k vac from a competitor. Sadly I can report that as a vaccuum, this $1600 model is far less reliable at actually picking up debris and hair than a $50 generic stick vac. 1. The Vacuum The final straw for me was trying to clean up some hair from my bathroom floor after a hair cut. I ran the unit over the smaller area exactly 8 times and it still failed to remove every strand. As you can see in my video, it literally rolls right over smaller lighter strands of hair. These were not wet or stuck down, I could move them by blowing on them. And yes, I had made sure there were no clogs and that the dust bin was empty. I ran it on maximum+ suction each pass. As a vacuum, my 3 year old roborock q5 was a superior product at 1/3rd the price. That thing got tangled in hair and didn't avoid socks, while the saros 10r still eats the occasional sock it never gets tangled in hair. The split roller design is good, but it leaves a ton of hair on the ground as it passes over anyway. Can't be tangle free when you don't pick up hair at all! It's not just hair that it misses, it also drives over finer chunks of dirt I spilled from houseplants and other objects that should be no problem to pick up. 2. The mop I might be asking too much of this technology, but I had hoped running it often would help keep my kitchen floor tiles clean. I cook often and sometimes fine amounts of oil splatters on the ground. When the mop is done working, the kitchen floor never feels clean, but it does become cloudy. I've tried maximum water and max detergent settings (using the roborock first party detergent) and all it does is seem to spread the oil across the floor evenly, moving it to areas and rooms it wasn't even close to originally. I've got the mop set to clean at the highest frequency too, I'm pretty much maxed out on all settings, it simply doesn't do a great job here. It also failed to remove a small dried on blob or sauce that I left out as a test. Since buying this thing I think I've actually had to use my hand held mop and vacuums more often just because I feel like the area SHOULD be clean after spending this kind of money on something. 3. The navigation So on one hand this thing crushed the ecovacs x9 I was comparing it to, which couldn't drive in a straight line or map my area to save it's life. On the other hand the lack of a lidar tower is still painfully obvious. The unit still kinda meanders a bit and misses some obvious paths, it's not terrible- but again my old q5 did a much better job. The 10r also has failed to recognize a cord and a sock once or twice, though it's a huge improvement over the q5 which had no object avoidance at all. Bottom line is this: I'm returning it. No way I can justify this premium expense for a product that fails to be a functional vacuum or a functional mop. I really wanted to like it too because I love the roborock app, it's just that I also need my vaccuum to be able to you know... vacuum things.

The best of the best. This is quiet, thorough, and really gets into the corners.
I am having a love hate relationship with these machines. I have one that works amazingly well, operates as it should and makes me love it more than my other appliances. But... I have a very large home, and one vacuum is not enough, so I decided to purchase a second one and have not been as lucky. My first one cleans so well that you would have thought a human with an eye for detail did the cleaning. The deep mopping function is a life saver, and frankly, this robot can out clean me when it comes to getting my floors looking brand new. The issues I have had with the other 10Rs have all been different. For example, one of the machines made a terrible clunking noise and couldn't find its way back to the base. The second one would go out to map, say it was saving the map, and then not save the map. It also wouldn't stay connected to the wifi and I would find it parked in random places in my house. It didn't matter how many factory resets I performed, it just wouldn't function properly. So, I just purchased my third additional robot and I am hoping that the third time is a charm. I know how great these machines can be because I have another one that is working as it should. UPDATE: Okay, I have been having an incredibly good experience with my third machine which has been in use for a few months. It must have just been a fluke that there were a couple that had issues. I am currently using two of these 10Rs (each one has half of the house), and my floors are always clean and look amazing. If you are like me, and you like your floors spotless all of the time, I highly recommend this vacuum. Maintenance is easy, the quality is exceptionally high, their customer service is responsive and helpful. I am actually thinking about adding another one just so that I don't have as much wear on the two 10Rs that I have now.

Smart, powerful, and low maintenance
I’ve been using this Roborock Saros 10R every single day for the past 3 months, I can confidently say It has been a quality-of-life upgrade for me. I live in an area where sandstorms are frequent, so fine sand dust on the floor is common. I also have a dog, so I wanted something that could handle dog hair and paw prints effectively. The biggest difference between the Saros 10 and the 10R is the mopping system. Since the spinning mop is known to have stronger scrubbing performance, I decided to go with the 10R. First of all, I love the design and color. It looks sleek and high-end, not bulky or outdated. I do not feel the need to hide it in a corner. It actually looks good sitting out in the open. I used one of the very early robot vacuums years ago. Back then, I basically had to prep the house before the robot could clean. I had to move things out of the way and constantly keep an eye on the robot to rescue it whenever it got stuck. With this one, I do not have to do anything. It avoids shoes, toys and even charging cables effortlessly. At the same time, it still cleans carefully around those objects. It turns on its own light when cleaning dark areas like under the couch. Such a smart little thing. The corner mopping is impressive, and when needed, it extends its side mop to clean edges more thoroughly. It is actually kind of cute to watch. The automatic dust emptying, mop washing, and drying all work seamlessly. I barely have to do anything. When there is something I need to take care of, the app notifies me clearly, like refilling the clean water tank, emptying the dirty water tank, or occasionally wiping the sensors. After about two months of use, I checked the dust bag and it was fairly full but still had room left. I do recommend emptying the dirty water tank daily. If you leave it sitting, it will smell terrible. Trust me. What I love most is that my home always stays clean. While it is cleaning, I can rest or focus on other things. My time and energy matter. I also feel free from constant dog hair. Occasionally, it leaves behind a small compressed clump of hair after cleaning, but it is tightly packed and easy to pick up, so it is not a big deal. The brush is truly anti-tangle. I check it occasionally, and there is almost no hair wrapped around it. Noise level is also reasonable. I live with a very noise-sensitive dog, so I was worried at first, but my dog adjusted quickly and now does not seem bothered at all. This is the slimmest robot vacuum out there, and that was one of the reasons I chose it. The slim profile fits under most of my furniture. I also enjoy seeing the clean, straight lines it leaves on the carpet after each run. I am not very tech-savvy, but the app is intuitive and easy to use. For reference, my home is about 1700sqft. Only the bedrooms are carpeted, and the rest is hard flooring. When running a full vacuum and mop cycle, it usually goes back to recharge at around 60 percent completion. The cleaning itself takes about three hours, and with charging time included, the total time is longer. If I run vacuum only, it finishes in about two hours without needing to recharge. It may feel expensive at first, but after using it every day for 3months, I genuinely feel it was worth every penny. I honestly can’t imagine going back to cleaning without this. My only regret is not buying it sooner.

Very Good Robot Vacuum
I'll start from the conclusion: Roborock Saros 10R is a great choice for mopping robot vacuum. It is not perfect, but close enough to it to justify its price. It is very important to take time to configure and customize Saros' operations to your needs. After a few trials and errors you will find modes and settings that will make you satisfied. Don't expect this device out of the box to replace your lovely housewife with a vacuum and a mop, cause it will not. But with proper configuration, it will free her up from most routine cleaning chores, and it will do a good job doing them. Don't rely on Roborock's SmartPlan. With that it ignores most customizations and does a quick, yet mediocre job cleaning the house. Luckily, Roborock application allows to customize cleaning process to your liking. Don't be afraid to try different options and methods. Figuring out the best way to clean an area or a room will take a few attempts. Create your own cleaning routines. You may need more intense vacuuming or deeper mopping in some areas. Experiment and find the option that provides you the best result for each area. Then combine those options in the custom routine. For instance, despite some reviews, I have found that Saros 10R uses very little water while mopping the floors. As a result, 9-10 minutes into mopping, it just polishes floors with dry mop cloths. To avoid that you need to go to Dock Settings to change the Mop Wash Frequency from "By Room" to "By Time" and lower the interval to 10 minutes. After that Saros 10R will actually do a decent job mopping the floors. I also prefer to do a full area vacuuming and then mopping. I found that to provide better cleaning results. Saros 10R leaves mops in the dock, when ordered to vacuum without mopping. In a custom routine you can select individual type/level of vacuuming and/or mopping for each area, so end result is near perfect. Take some time to customize the map that Saros creates. He may pickup an area at the top of the staircase or even a piece of your yard, if your windows are low enough. Remove unneeded areas, divide rooms according to your floor plan. Those steps will allow better customization of the cleaning process. You can specify a floor type and even a direction of hardwood planks in each room. Make sure that your rooms are presented correctly. Obstacle avoidance and object recognition of the Saros 10R are very good, but not great. Especially when it comes to cables on the floor. So, follow Roborock's recommendation: prepare the area for cleaning. Move some objects, lift or tackle cords where possible. Those steps bring cleaning results closer to perfect. So, if you are expecting a futuristic android bot that will thoroughly clean your house for you, you may be somewhat disappointed. But if you take a few steps to customize cleaning routines, prepare your home for cleaning, and then let Saros 10R methodically vacuum and mop floors in your home, while you and your loved one are out and about all day, that is hard to beat. And 8 out of 10 cleaning quality in such setup is almost perfect.

Great routine cleaning, if a bit slow
My wife is OCD about clean, I'm not. So, I use this before she gets up to clean kitchen/dining/bathroom, and at night to clean up kid's playroom or office. It takes a load off her mind, and i like that it's a cool robot that i can put the Australian voicepack onto because it's funny, win/win. Had a Q5 before this, which we loved. But, it was loud and couldn't mop. The 10R is a huge upgrade even just in the vacuuming side; split-brush to pick up long hair, much quieter (even on max+) than Q5, and better suction. The mops work well for small messes (like a baby throwing food on the ground), and they do great getting corners and edges with the arms on the sides; but it's going to struggle with muddy boots stomping around. It comes with the option to cover a zone twice over, and it often needs it. The "hot" water is really just body-temperature water. You still gotta go over carpets periodically with a steam cleaner. There's a variant of this that hooks directly into water/sewer lines if you have free taps, but I stuck with the removable tanks (clean/dirty) so we didn't need to put it in a bathroom somewhere. Probably best to give the dirty tank a good chemical soak sometimes, ours started to stink if water was left even just 24hrs. Software-wise, it's great. Rooms (with floor types that it'll intelligently detach or raise mops for), zones, "routines" (named sets of rooms/zones that you use often, like 'after meals'), and the ability to customize the cleaning parameters per-zone or per-room each time. We're a lifetime beyond the old roomba that bumped into everything randomly. But, it's slow. 3sqft per minute. Sure, there's only so fast you could thoroughly mop a floor, it obviously takes time to get corners and around chair legs, and there are options to have it be less thorough but faster; but it also often makes subtle mistakes like driving to a faraway next zone, then deciding that the 10min timer to clean the mop is up, so it drives all the way back to clean the mop for 5min. For me it's not killer, but if your house schedule more hectic, you might not have the hour to spare that it takes to wipe down a kitchen and dining table area. Network-wise, this seems to use CoralAI even when no LLM features are enabled, and it reports to myqcloud (a tencent cloud). They're both in ashburn, so it's "in the US", but I was iffy enough to put it on its own vlan and block some stuff. I doubt it's nefarious, but it's my house. I ultimately chose this over the variant with a top-mounted arm, since reviews indicated that the arm is an extra $1k for a pretty limited feature. But, when it gets good, that'll probably be our next upgrade. Couldn't be happier with the state of it though.

The Roborock Saros 10R dosen't clean nearly as well as the Roborock S8 base model
We have used a Roborock S8 for five months and absolutely love it. I wanted to upgrade to a model with a fancy docking station so I could run it overnight in the end of our house away from our bedroom. I also love cool new technology so I expected the Roborock Saros 10R to be a significant improvement. The results are very mixed, in my opinion. The Saros 10R has a lot of really cool features and improvements compared to our S8. It does not get snagged on our bathroom rugs nearly as often. I gave up running the S8 through our bathrooms because of the rug problems. The 10R raises itself up and handles the rugs without many problems, but some improvement in this area would still be helpful. The 10R handles thresholds much better than the S8 and easily climbs thresholds our S8 struggled with but ultimately overcame after several attempts. The 10R does so for the same reason it does so well with our bathroom rugs. The 10R is much quieter than the S8, even on the max suction setting. Obviously, the dock has many cool features that the S8, with only a charging dock does not have. Being able to mop overnight and have the mops washed and dried automatically is really helpful. The other cool features of the 10R are described in the Amazon listing and sales literature from Roborock, so there is no need to repeat them here. However, the machine's ability to clean is the most important thing about it. This is where I think it falls short compared to our S8. I vacuumed our entire house in two full battery charges using the default Roborock Saros 10R settings, and then repeated this process in two additional battery charges with the max suction setting selected. Immediately afterwards, I sent the Roborock S8 through the whole house using its max suction setting. The Roborock website claims the 10R has a 100% hair removal ability. We have cats and long hair in our house so this is very important. The S8's dust bin should be fairly empty, right? Not so! The S8 dust bin was completely full of dust and hair after finishing our house. This was right after the 10R had just been though it twice! Furthermore, today I assembled some new furniture in our house. This always leaves bits of Styrofoam, cardboard and other debris all over the place. When I was done, I sent in the Saros 10R on max suction and the deep cleaning crisscross pattern setting to clean it all up. It left all sorts of stuff behind when it was finished. So, I sent in the S8 to clean up the leftover mess and it did a great job. The Roborock Saros 10R has many cool abilities and features. But it just does not vacuum clean as well as the $350 Roborock S8 base model on rugs and carpets. The difference in the results are very obvious and repeatable. They are the same every time I have tried it. Ultimately, for me, excellent vacuuming ability is the most important feature of a robot vacuum cleaner. The improvements are somewhat incremental in the Saros 10R. They are not miraculous improvements at all. The S8's dual roller brushes just seem to vacuum clean much, much better than the Saros 10R's single split brush. I believe this is because the dual roller brushes in the S8 are able to agitate carpet better than the split single roller in the Saros 10R. I should note that the results of mopping hard floors with both the 10R and S8 are similar. The 10R does do a slightly better job around the edges of rugs, where the S8 leaves big gaps. There are still gaps with the 10R, but they are not quite as big. Personally, I am currently contemplating returning my Roborock Saros 10R. There just isn't a real reason to keep it if the S8 does a better job. Perhaps I will try one of the S8 models with a dock. My parents have a Narwal Freo X Ultra that is really impressive. It is what I was hoping the Roborock Saros 10R would be, its just not as thin. It is another option that could be better than the Roborock Saros 10R. I am disappointed. LATER EDIT: I have decided to keep our Saros 10R afterall. Using both the Saros 10R with the S8 is a potent combination. The strengths of the Saros 10R compliment those of the S8 very well. Using both together produces a very nice, clean house. The Saros 10R can handle things the S8 can't, such as bathroom rugs and challenging thresholds. The S8 cleans carpets, especially those with deep pile, much better. Using both for their strengths together works great! I also want to make very clear that the Saros 10R is NOT in any way a terrible vacuum cleaner. It does work! The S8 just works better in this one area. Everywhere else, the Saros 10R is superior. I believe the Saros 10R vacuums slightly better than the Roborock Q7. I hope this offers some sort of comparison. ONE LAST NOTE: The Roborock Saros 10R uses AI. It learns as it goes. Many others have commented that the Saros 10R wanders around aimlessly and does weird things. Yes, this does happen at first. But as the Saros 10R learns, it improves quickly and gets faster at what it does. It still does strange things occasionally, but not very often. Robot vacuum cleaners do strange things sometimes. This is fairly common and there is no real need to worry about it. It will figure itself out and get back on track soon enough. Mopping can also take a long time at first. If hard floors are dirty, it will make several attempts to clean them. However, after two or three moppings, when most of the built-up stuff is gone, its performance improves. Maintenance mopping goes pretty quickly.

Great purchase
I’ve been using the Roborock Saros 10R for a while now, and I can confidently say I don’t regret this purchase at all. The main reason I bought it was for daily cleaning, since we have two cats. Our apartment has very few carpets, but we do use litter mats around the litter boxes. We use clay-based litter, which creates a lot of dust. Because of that, the sensors (as well as the mopping pads and the washing tray) need to be cleaned regularly. Secondary reasons for buying it were hair collection (human hair 😅) and the self-cleaning brush. Pros: * Voice control * Self-cleaning mopping pads * The ability to extend the mop to clean along edges and in corners * Very convenient design of the washing tray and how the parts attach Cons: * The price — but considering the cleaning quality, it’s acceptable * In our case, frequent maintenance is required (but the alternative is bad smells and spreading dirt around the apartment) * You need to refill and empty the water tanks regularly. This model isn’t suitable for leaving unattended for several days in mopping mode, since the water will run out I also had experience with a similar robot vacuum from Dreame. Compared to it, I realized this model has a big advantage: the removable washing tray. With Dreame, the tray isn’t removable, and you have to clean it while awkwardly crouching on the floor — very inconvenient! There is one small downside compared to Dreame: their model has a dedicated compartment to store cleaning tools, which is quite handy. I ended up using a separate drawer for all the accessories. Still, this is a minor issue. Finally, I want to share a tip so you don’t repeat my mistake. Maybe I didn’t read the instructions carefully enough, but for a long time I cleaned the sensors with regular wet wipes. Over time, the mapping quality dropped significantly, and the robot started detecting obstacles that didn’t exist. I’ve now bought a special sensor cleaning solution — I’ll update this review if it doesn’t help 👍 Overall, the vacuum works great. Whenever it’s not running, dust and pet hair build up very quickly in our apartment. If the sensor-cleaning trick works, next time I’ll probably go for a model with direct water supply and drainage.
