We're gone an entire week it's critical I stay in touch with my business partners. A couple years ago, I rented a Verizon MiFi device. It provided a horribly spotty signal.This year, I decided to purchase my own MiFi and this one is a more updated version. Aside from my comments about the product itself below, I wanted to give a special accolade to the folks at ElectronicsDirectPlus, the Amazon Marketplace vendor I bought from. They very prompt and efficient in address a minor issue at the beginning of the purchase which was not really their fault.When possible, I will purchase from them in the future.As for Jetpack itself, here are the highlights:► It arrived, new in the package in excellent condition.► It powered up with no problem► I took it to the Verizon store, and while they exhibited a tremendous amount of incompetence which burned a whole hour along with having to make a 2nd trip, they finally inserted the SIM card and, voila I had wifi available anywhere in Verizon's impressively comprehensive coverage area. No stars deducted though since I'm only rating the product itself plus the service I received on the purchase.It remains to be seen whether it will work at the exotic location I am headed to, but I did check the Verizon coverage map and we should be good.Monday, August 11 2014, 08:41:03 PMBack from vacation. Well it does and it works like a charm. The device is activated and registered with my account, it does really well in the country picking up 4G but I want to get a outside antenna and see how it does [will update later]I live in the country and I still manage to get on 4G 3 bars outside and two bars inside at various spots. Around 10-17MBPS. The only downfall is that if I don't keep my jetpack out in the open it will get hot quickly and if one battery will use and consume power like a hog. So I'm thinking of also upgrading the standard issue 1500 mAh to the 3000 mAh for better mobility and better battery life span and just use the standard battery as a backup.Even though it's a couple of years old model it still works great and I'm able to still get 55 - 70 ping ms. While near a tower. The DB fluctuates between 95 to 105 and that's when the signal is really weak able to still pick up 1 4G bar. So hopefully when I get a outside mounted antenna it'll show a little improvement on packet loss and reception. I live in a 2400sqft house and still able to get 2 to 3 wifi bars but in a 94 built home.The reason why I got this was that so I didn't have to have my tablet propped up just to get a clear signal in my house and I can just use my jetpack at the best known spot for a Signal of Service. I like the fact that you can go in using a computer and change the settings like you can with any router and change the default SSID and password.I give it 4 out of 5, great product but consumes power and gets hot quickly if in a enclosed environment. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Works Great with My Configuration *by L***R on Reviewed in the United States on June 12, 2014* I live in the sticks and the only way I could access the internet was via satellite dish. It worked satisfactorily but was not cheap - $60+/month with a 2yr contract. I had AT&T for my landline, but did not like paying them $40+/month. I also had AT&T wireless for 2 regular cellphones -- another $60+/month. So, I decided I wanted something better and cheaper.To access the internet, I bought a Jetpack 4620LE from Verizon. I wanted the 4620LE because it was 4G and had a port for an antenna (I use a 7dB antenna). It worked great right from the start. Next, I bought a Cradlepoint MBR95 router. It has a USB port into which I plug my Jetpack. It allows access to the internet, charges the Jetpack, and keeps the Jetpack from going to sleep. Then I bought my Ooma phone which plugs into the MBR95 router. I unplugged my inside phone line from the box outside my home and plugged the line-out from my Ooma box to a phone jack in a nearby wall. Now, all of the phone jacks in my house are connected to the Ooma device. I have a cordless Panasonic phone I previously used as a land line and continue as my primary phone.Now I have no satellite dish, no AT&T landline, no AT&T wireless, free ($3.83 tax/month) home phone service, and two smartphones for the road. And I am savings a few bucks as well.Update 06/19/15 I replaced my 4620 with the newer 6620. The 6620 also has an antenna port. I am still using the same configuration.
