I would measure the nipple on the cap and buy tubing accordingly. **Q: Will these caps hold a vacuum? Want to use it for degassing.** A: The fermenting lids I have are not the same as these. Mine would not hold a vacuum. **Q: how do you syphon through the lid?** A: There are two holes in the lid one is for a air lock the other is for a racking cane or tube for siphoning. Both holes have caps to plug them. **Q: Would this work for long term wine storage? (Decades)** A: I am not sure if this would work for decades. I have used it to condition beer after primary fermentation but for only 30 days. As long as you can keep oxygen out there shouldn’t be an issue.
