Like the fantasy movie grimoire or Hogwarts textbook of your dreams
I have been practicing Witchcraft for 18 years and this is still the hands-down best book in my magick library. It is the basis for my spellspinning, and I recommend it to all beginner or curious Witches looking for a solid foundation in Wiccan and Pagan Witchcraft. Lady Passion's prose is so enchanting and inspiring, while still retaining well-cited and painstakingly researched information that will have you hit the ground running on your Witch's journey.Though I mention it being great for beginners, it's really written for Witches on all levels, as it is designed to give you something new, to take you even deeper every time you read it, even if just one section. This book has it all, and has helped me genuinely connect to the Gods and to spirits, read the future in coins or acorn caps, decorate my living quarters in a way that brings all who enter at peace, see and talk to faeries, add magickal nuance into my singing, curse destructive and harmful people to harmlessness, and probably most important of all, using my Witchcraft as a way to effect positive change in the world and temper myself towards someone who embodies the Four Witch Virtues (Prudence, Justice, Fortitude, and Wisdom). What I really love is that this book emphasizes how easy and inexpensive Witchcraft is truly meant to be-- far from the material-focused Witchtok influenced trend of making your practice more about something to instagram, this shows you how to weave powerful spells with just twigs, chewing gum, paper, needles, packs of cards, bowls of water, and other inexpensive stuff. It also gives you the theory of spells, so you know what to replace, for example, in the spell invoking the nine muses to learn difficult subjects (if you aren't able to create a statuette, then a painting or drawing will also suffice). As an example of the spells' efficacy, I remember working the one to receive a diagnosis in a dream when I was having some bad sports injuries-- needless to say, it worked, and the tincture I was told to get was wonderfully effective.I cannot recommend this book enough.

The Goodly Spell Book isn't just good, it's GREAT!!!
First off, I think cosmetically this book looks beautiful without the dust cover as I have the hard bound version. Very great detail and beautiful binding. Looks awesome in my bookcase! I have been very interested in Pagan/Wiccan ways, lure, history and spells for some time now and haven't acted on my interests until I came across The Goodly. In hopes to increase my little knowledge I ordered it. When it arrived I was thinking wow this is a large book and for good reason, there is vast amount of history and facts behind it. Don't fret it isn't a hard read at all, it's actually really easy to read and get consumed with. Like most, I went right to the spells and started looking at how to practice and execute them. Which you need to start from the beginning to really understand the premises and history behind what makes the Goodly GREAT! From the very beginning, I found myself consumed with the history of why things are the way they are and how Pagans/Wiccans have maintained throughout the ages. I found it to be very fascinated to tell you the truth. Very in-depth history and explanations of how things have came to be in this modern age that we will in now. Really has opened my eyes to the possibilities that surround me on a daily basis. Being a musician for most of my life I found the correlation behind modes/scales very interesting and it has given me a vast amount of ideas on how to perfect my own craft! I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking to understand, gather knowledge and become versed in Pagan/Wiccan ways, traditions and spells. Lady Passion and the other writers do an excellent job of making the book very relevant to the issues people face today. They also do a great job of making the book a easy read that really is hard to put down!

Good introduction to modern Craft
I am not qualified to comment on the efficacy of the rituals, but the overall writing is enjoyable. I particularly appreciated the history sections as well as the charts and tables. A good place to start for the naive and curious, as well as intermediate workers of the Craft.

UNBELIEVEABLY FANTISTIC!
Lady Passion solved a long-term very-serious situation that no one in the New Age community knew what it was, how to solve it, or give advise. In less than five minutes on the phone, with a number of questions, Lady Passion elicited the Ancient name for the condition, the symptoms, and the antidote that worked...MY GOD! The time and money I spent on the issue was unbelievable, and she only takes donations, which that in, and of itself was a miracle! If the situation went on much longer. I would have been put in a mental hospital and drugged for the rest of my life! Now, am I going to check into Wicca? Ya betcha! I have studied spirituality for over 25 years, nothing in that community could help me, and quite frankly the craft scared me a bit, but now I have learned from the book of it's Ancient history, that it is of nature, the incredible revelations, wonderful secrets and tons of formulas...it's a piece of art; so well written, understandable with such Wisdom...I am so very grateful to Lady Passion, for "Her Passion" which drips from the book, and for her compassionate assistance after having suffered so long with the situation! With the ugliness the the world today, this book should become a household word!Gratefully,A.M. It’s good, but not my personal favorite
I have a lot of mixed feelings about this book. I have read 20 books on witchcraft & paganism, so I have a lot to compare too. I, for the most part enjoyed the first half of this book. There is a lot of good information. It is kind of a dull read at times. There is also some fluff, that I think might overwhelm someone new to the craft. I wasn’t crazy about the spells in this book. There are several in the second half. I don’t see myself using very many of them. Overall I will keep this book in my collection, but it’s not something I’ll recommend as a must read. If anything, read some books by Scott Cunningham first, then read this.
