The normal root growth fungi have little or no benefit to ericoid plants as they are not present in the very poorly acidic soils in which these plants naturally grow. Many people have difficulty getting these plants established and ericoid root growth will become another valuable tool in the gardener's armoury. Like normal root growth, ericoid root growth should be applied to the planting hole in direct contact with the plant roots. One 200g bag is enough for 5 10-15 litre plants or 20 2 litre plants. For previously untreated plants that are struggling, root growth can be applied to the soil surface and gently worked in.
