A collection of the inspiring words and wisdom from America's favorite businessman that reveal his secrets of success from the bestselling authors of Buffettology and The New Buffettology . Like the sayings of the ancient Chinese philosopher Lao-tzu, Warren Buffett's worldly wisdom is deceptively simple and enormously powerful in application. In The Tao of Warren Buffett, Mary Buffett—author of three books on Warren Buffett's investment methods—joins noted Buffettologist and international lecturer David Clark to bring you Warren Buffett's smartest, funniest, and most memorable sayings with an eye toward revealing the life philosophy and the investment strategies that have made Warren Buffett, and the shareholders of Berkshire Hathaway, so enormously wealthy. Warren Buffett's investment achievements are unparalleled. He owes his success to hard work, integrity, and that most elusive commodity of all, common sense. The quotations in this book exemplify Warren's practical strategies and provide useful illustrations for every investor—large or small—and models everyone can follow. The quotes are culled from a variety of sources, including personal conversations, corporate reports, profiles, and interviews. The authors provide short explanations for each quote and use examples from Buffett's own business transactions whenever possible to illustrate his words at work. As Warren says: "You should invest in a business that even a fool can run, because someday a fool will." "No matter how great the talent or effort, some things just take time: You can't produce a baby in one month by getting nine women pregnant." "Our method is very simple. We just try to buy businesses with good-to-superb underlying economics run by honest and able people and buy them at sensible prices. That's all I'm trying to do." The Tao of Warren Buffett inspires, amuses, sharpens the mind, and offers priceless investment savvy that anyone can take to the bank. This irresistibly browsable and entertaining book is destined to become a classic. Review: Excellent book - I was able to understand Buffett better. Must read for value investors. Highly recommend this book of you want to invest in stocks. Review: Great book, lots of bite sized money wisdom! - I am no money genius. In fact, only recently (I'm 32 y/o) have I come into saving and making things work in my favor through my career and money choices but this is a great addition to any reading and advice you might be getting from other sources. It provides powerful tidbits of insight into business and money management. I loved it so much I bought it for someone else who loves Warren Buffet books as much as I do and she loves it too!

A wealth of wisdom
Arguably the greatest investor in modern times, these snippets from shareholder's meetings & interviews show that Warren Buffet is a very wise man & his investing wisdom can be applied to life in general. For example, he says, " “You can’t make a good deal with a bad person.”A bad person is a bad person, and a bad person will never make you a good deal. The world is filled with enough good and honest people that doing business with the dishonest ones is pure foolishness. The rule is simple: People with integrity are predisposed to perform; people without integrity are predisposed not to perform. It is best not to get the two confused. " And Buffet has such a wonderfully accessible & epigrammatic way of articulating his wisdom. For instance, " You should invest like a Catholic marries ---> for life... " “....I look for businesses in which I think I can predict what they’re going to look like in ten to fifteen years’ time. Take Wrigley’s chewing gum. I don’t think the Internet is going to change how people chew gum.” ..... “Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.” Also, Buffet is often objectively funny. Like he began sharing his background by saying, “I made my first investment at age eleven. I was wasting my life up until then.” This book is itself is a great investement offerring a wealth of wisdom.

FABULOUS book!
This book is fantastic. I can't say enough about it!! Each page has a sentence from Warren Buffett, then a couple of paragraphs explaining the statement, which is written by Mary Buffett. I have learned so much & have highlighted & underlined many pages! For me, it is not a book to just read through, I read a page or 2 or 3 & then put it down & really think about what I read. I would highly recommend it!

Good simple book for a quick read
I have one grouse against authors who write about Mr Buffet - "Buy great companies at reasonable prices" they all say. Until then just sit on the sidelines. If I waited to buy shares of great businesses at reasonable prices I would die of old age before I got a chance. I live in India and the share prices of great companies like Colgate, Nestle, Unilever etc etc ( the sort that Warren Buffet loves) almost never fall below 40 times earnings. But even purchased at these inflated levels they prove to be fabulous wealth creators. Mr Buffet also never invests in technology stocks because he does not understand them and their future is uncertain. Here I think that Mr Buffet is wrong. Many leading Software companies have great ROC and ROA. They are awash with cash. Infosys has six billion dollars in reserves and not one dollar of debt. How's that for wealth creation. Senior citizens will be happy to note that in his world of investing you are only taken seriously after you hit 65 years of age and have at least four decades of investing experience under your belt. Just shows what high standards the man lives by.

No one puts it more simply than Buffett but is it too simply put?
I've been investing and trading stocks for many years and I do agree that we all could learn a lot about investing and patience from this man. This book does however state some very obvious advice but does add enough value to make it worth your time reading. The beginning of the book really focuses on some questionable advice that is perfect with 20/20 hindsight but as the book progresses it touches on what real investing is about.. buying companies, not stocks. In summary, this short book can really help you recenter yourself to what you should be looking for in an investment to passively grow your wealth.

Buffett's way of investment
There are many valuable hints even for ordinary investors. You can learn how to avoid foolish mistakes when investing (or not investing). But being successful like Buffett is not that easy. He was lucky, as well as diligent, careful and thoughtful. If someone became too positive about his investment by reading this book, it would be ironical.
