Cheap, but I like it!
If you're looking for a low-cost ANR headset comparable to a good PNR headset, this is the one for you! I have used this headset for about 6 months now while flight training for my private pilot's license (in a Cessna 172). It's lightweight, has decent audio quality, and the ANR works. Of course, when compared to the industry-leading BOSE or LIGHTSPEED ANR headsets or a David Clark PNR headset, the UFQ A7 lacks in quality. It is less durable, and has a few quirks. Its strengths: 1. First and foremost, the ANR is actually quite good. It primarily filters out low frequency noise. I think the noise cancellation is similar to that of a David Clark PNR headset, without the weight or bulk of a PNR headset. 2. Its audio sound quality is surprisingly good. It has a great frequency range for music, voice audio is loud and intelligible. 3. It has two volume sliders, one for each ear. Moving the slider down will decrease the headset audio while simultaneously increasing the aux-in (music) audio from the provided 3.5mm cord. 4. The microphone picks up my voice well even in lots of background noise. 5. The headset is quite lightweight, meaning it does not weigh on my head much and doesn't leave me feeling sore after a 2-hour flight. 6. It is very adjustable and fits my small head. The mic is also easy to position to where its needed. Now, about the quirks: 1. It seems that the left and right ears are swapped on my headset, a little odd, but I can live with it. 2. The volume sliders don't seem to have the best contact. Audio occasionally fades or stops in one of the ears and I have to move the volume slider to fix it. This mainly happens when I move a slider. 3. Just a personal opinion, but the 3.5mm aux cable could be a little higher quality. It seems quite cheaply made, but I suppose you get what you pay for. 4. The ear pads could fit a little tighter. If I turn my head right, some noise will leak in under the pads. Overall, I would still recommend this for new pilots who want a comfortable yet cheap headset. Also a great option if you want some spare passenger headsets.

Great Value Aviation Headset
Funny how good these are for the price. The noise cancelling is excellent, they are comfortable, light weight, and the audio is clear. The auxiliary audio input works well but does lack some volume and makes music somewhat faint while flying. This is OK, however, given that rocking out too much while flying may not be the safest decision. I'd say the volume is just right for safe flying. Coms and radio audio, however, is great. The headset is not quite as robust as other products, however this comes as no surprise to me based on the price point. However, it does come with a nice case. If taken care of, I expect this headset to offer plenty of longevity. Thank you UFQ for providing an affordable active noise cancelling headset! I hope someday you build a headset with built in bluetooth for music and phone calls.

Great headset, comfortable and quiet.
I had been using the Bose A20 in a Cessna CJ 3+, but my new assignment to a straight CJ3 required me to purchase a new headset. While the Bose A20 was a great headset, I decided to give the UFQ A7 a go, and I am very happy with this headset. On the plus side, this headset is noticeably lighter than the Bose, and is very comfortable to wear for long periods. While the noise cancelling may not be quite as good as the Bose, it works great and I have no complaints. After a day of use, I left the noise cancelling switch on when we left the airplane. We did not fly the next day, so that switch was on for more than 40 hours straight. I continued to use the headset for another 5 days of flying, and the batteries are still doing the job. The volume control takes 2 AA batteries. The volume control works well, and has both a stereo and a mono setting. In the airplane I was flying, the stereo position only sent reception to one earpiece, but that was fixed by selecting the mono position which worked great. The included bluetooth device works well, it paired to my iPhone without problem, I was able to make phone calls or listen to AWOS via a phone number, or Pandora. The bluetooth device is plugged into the volume control using a 1/8" jack, see picture. While not as clean as the integral bluetooth on the Bose, it does work. One small issue that I haven't figured out yet is the sidetone volume, but this is perhaps a problem with the airplane audio panel and not the headset. When I transmit, the volume of my transmission is roughly the same as my reception volume, rather than the normal softer volume. I find this somewhat annoying, as I can't differentiate between my transmission and my intercom, so I don't get the confirmation that my transmission is going out, vs staying within the intercom. Overall however, I am very happy with this headset.

Nice ANR headset!
Purchased UFQ A7 ANR headset to use in 135 charter operation flying jets. This A7 is the most comfortable headset I've ever worn. Not uncommon to wear it 8 hours per day with none of the typical ear or headband pain. ANR is not quite as good as the popular $1K headset (which I've also worn for years), but it is very good, plus A7 is lighter, more comfortable, and only a third of the cost! After almost 1 year of heavy use, and hundreds of hours of use, the only problem I've had is one ear seal split open at the seam. Contacted customer support and they are sending new seals at no cost! Batteries last for months. I've used this in single engine piston aircraft for a couple hours and it is as quiet as the heavy passive green headsets. Wide range of volume adjustment, and ability to 1/8" jack in music or phone is convenient. Note: with 1/8" cable connected to phone, you can hear phone call over headset but cannot transmit from mic to phone. Simply hold the phone by your mouth to talk, then put it down to copy the clearance, or whatever. Good ANR headset at a good price! Highly recommended from a flying pro!

Student pilot
For the money you can’t really complain, yes the noise canceling works pretty good but sometimes it can get choppy at different RPMs (Cessna 150,172) had to get a aux to lighting adapter for my music and it’s not very loud but the music plays over the radio so I try not to keep it turned up all the way. Also one thing I heavily dislike is that there is no sidetone when speaking, so you can’t hear yourself talking, but after a few hrs I stoped noticing it and haven’t had anyone complain saying my calls sound bad. So for the money as a student pilot I’m happy with them, light, fairly comfortable and cheap. I may buy me a nice set after my private check ride. Also these would be a good set for passengers.

Don't waste your money. Worst headset EVER!!!
I am a professional airline pilot and I had to send my my Proflight headset in for repair, so I needed a backup headset and didn't want to pay $700-$1200 for one. I saw these and thought I'd give them a try. Wow, these are HORRIBLE. First, I was ok with the fact there is no bluetooth to connect to your phone or tablet, as I thought I could use the 3.5mm jack to connect to my tablet or phone to make phone calls to dispatch; Nope! The headset will play music from your device, but not phone calls. I can't use the music feature anyway when I fly, but even if I could, there is no automatic cutout during ATC communications; a major safety issue! Next, let's talk about the ANR. It is ridiculous! It seemed like it was working for taxi out and then as I pushed up power for takeoff, the ANR couldn't handle the noise and vibration and made numerous ear-piercingly loud squeals. I attempted to reset it, but it continued to fail, so I can only use the headset with the ANR off. Finally, the quality of sound with the ANR off is terrible, it sounds like you're in a tunnel and ATC is speaking to you from the other side; just a hollow, echo sound. Added to this, the speakers seem to vibrate, or have a rattle sound at the end of someone speaking which is incredible annoying. Honestly, if I could give 0 stars, I would. In my professional opinion, these are a complete PIECE OF JUNK, they are more like a kids toy than a serious piece of equipment. Don't even waste your time or money.

Great headset for the price
Ever since Lightspeed stopped selling reasonably priced ANR headsets years ago I've been looking for something that was in the $300-$400 price range. I ended up buying lots of used Lightspeed headsets off of eBay and refurbishing them for my 6-passenger PA32-260 Cherokee Six. They're not built all that well and inevitably the plastic cracks or the thin cables frayed beyond repair. But they were quiet. I bought one of these headsets about a year ago and have logged maybe 50-60 hours with it. It does the job well and is also lightweight and doesn't clamp down on my head like the Lightspeed headsets I own. I also own a few older PNR headsets that can pull your hair when adjusting the fit. These don't - there's nothing to snag and grab loose hair. I installed two AA batteries a year ago and don't recall ever having to change them. The volume is adjustable in a much wider dynamic range than any other headsets I've used, which is great. They can get super loud or soft to accommodate everyone's needs. The single switch on the ear cup to turn on and off the ANR is simple to use and explain to passengers. I bought a second one today, and over the next couple of years plan to replace all of my used Lightspeed ANR headsets with these. I'm happy that there's another entrant in the market that basically gets almost all the way to a Bose headset and is superior in some ways to the Lightspeed offerings at a much better price. Sorry, just not going to pay an exorbitant amount for a headset, no matter how much I fly. I'd rather spend the money on gas (well, not really - that's way expensive, too)!

So update on the road
This is an exceptional headset. Very light and comfortable. I mainly fly a hawker 800XP. And it work great in that airplane. Batteries last a long time. For th price it is probably the best you can get. I own about every headset on the planet. I was in a pinch and needed one ASAP while on the road. So Amazon to the rescue. I figured give it a shot. Worst case I could return it. But that won’t be happening. Was also surprised by a Bluetooth dongle and audio cord added in package. Works great too! Love having my music on long legs. Very nice case as well. For the money you really don’t get much better. The only downside I can come up with. The mic boom is not able to be switched from left to right. So if sitting in the right seat the cord will go across your chest. The headset is designed to be worn with the boom to the left so its not really comfortable if you flip the boom and turn the headset around. Only thing I can come up with.

UFQ A7 ANR Headset
This headset is a great product it is ultra quiet and very comfortable and the sound quality is fantastic so much for my likes not for my dislikes I found that the activation when talking lags a little but being the only one I have ever uses I guess it could be similar with $1800 units just giving the mike a short word and all is great, Best part is I saved $1500 buying this headset I am definitely not disappointed, others at my flight school are also ready to buy including some of the staff. Happy flying:)

Alles gut, gerne immer wieder..

Stopped working/low quality
This product is supposed to last for many years. 3 months after my purchase, during pushback operations, I did not realize the ground crew was asking for the parking brake. Then I noticed the headset suddenly started with a terrible bad contact, and does not work anymore. The case is too small for the headset and the material is poor. typical Chinese material. In addition it has a terrible intermittent background noise when used in the Boeing 737. I do not recommend any pilot to invest in these headsets.

Compact and easy to use
I’m a student pilot and have spent half my course reliant on the headsets at my flight school. Have always lusted for A20’s or Lightspeed ANR headsets - I was told about UFQ’s from a friend in the States so ordered a set. Since delivery I have used them over three flight hours and now cannot believe how I managed before! The ANR function means I can never go back to a traditional set. The only negative is that the carry case is a bit small. Midlife PPL SE UK
