Amlactin Daily Nourish 12%

I've been using AmLactin Daily Nourish Body Lotion (12% Lactic Acid) for a few weeks, and it has made a noticeable difference in my skin. My dry, rough areas, especially on my arms and legs, feel much softer and smoother after regular use. The lotion is rich and moisturizing without feeling overly greasy. The 12% lactic acid provides gentle exfoliation while helping to lock in moisture, which has improved my skin's texture significantly. It absorbs reasonably well and provides long-lasting hydration throughout the day. One thing to note is that there is a slight medicinal scent when first applied, but it fades quickly and is a small trade-off for the results. Overall, if you're struggling with dry, flaky, or rough skin and want a lotion that both exfoliates and hydrates, I highly recommend giving this product a try. Great value for the size and very effective for daily skincare.

Starting with the good, I am really pleased. I (61f) had been using The Ordinary 5% lactic acid drops on my face, and saw subtle improvement in surface texture. I thought, ok, I don't have any irritation with this, so let's try amping up the percentage. Test patching with this 12% product was ok. Some mild pinprickling - not burning -which is what I expected, and only lasts about a half hour. No rash, no roughness, and the faint pinpricks tell me it's penetrating to do the work. After about a week using it, I'm really liking what I see, and the price doesn't hurt at all. Having said that... I am not what anyone would call "scent sensitive". I wear perfumes, don't have any allergies, headaches, or reactions. But man, this has a smell all its own. It's just, ugh. Like you left yogurt rotting in a rubber glove. And you can't get any closer to the source of the smell than on your own face. It doesn't seem to fade much, either. I could still smell it quite clearly by the end of the day when I put it on in the morning. I actually had my friend sniff me. Closer. Ok, now closer... She practically had her nose pressed up against my cheek when she said, "Oh, ok, now I think I'm smelling it." So it's not like it's stinky to anyone else. But again, nobody smells your own face more clearly than you do, and even at the end of the day it was very noticeable to me. So I do have to knock a star off for that. Having said all that? Still gonna keep using it, because it really does seem to be doing a nice job smoothing out fine surface crepeyness on my face, and plumping/hydrating. Maybe at some point that particular receptor will burn out in my nose and I'll stop noticing that smell. I really hope so, because I rarely see such nice results in such an inexpensive product. (edit) Had to come back and edit this to give it that last star. I'm calling this User Error. More is not better here, and when I used a little less and massaged that in thoroughly, the smell was much, much less, and then really did fade away to nothing in about an hour. I guess applying too much to absorb easily on your face would naturally make it sit there all day on the surface.

I have really dry and really sensitive skin. I’ve tried so many lotions and potions but never found anything that really worked, until now. I’ve only used this lotion for a week and my flaky skin is gone! I wear black leggings a lot and usually when I pull them off the inside is covered with flakes of skin. No more! Not one single flake! I honestly can’t believe it. I use this immediately after showering and toweling off. I keep it in my shower but away from the water. I have a large glass shower with a built in seat and all of my products are on the seat. Shake it well before using. It is not greasy AT ALL. The smell isn’t bad, it isn’t completely fragrance free but what little you smell dissipates after you rub it in. I will continue buying this lotion and hope the formula doesn’t change or they stop making it.

This is really good lotion. It absorbs good, works very well on feet. It is non-greasy. It does have a weird smell sometimes, I have purchased this product a couple times now.

Pros: ACTUALLY WORKS! Doesn't sting my skin (some others may have more sensitive skin, though). Cons: Smell is "eh" at best and sometimes there's a hint of an ammonia type smell, but it dissipates pretty quick. Takes a bit to rub in. I figured I would give this a try and wasn't disappointed. I've struggled with dry skin for my whole life (super flaky and scaly skin at the worst, like no amount of scrubbing would get the flakes off - I believe it's a mild form of ichthyosis). I've tried the oatmeal lotions, the daily moisturizer lotions, the bulk (I'll drown you in moisture), Aveeno, Lubriderm, Aquaphor, Suave, etc. Nothing helped get rid of it. There would be relief (less itching after showers, temporary appearance improvement), but it wouldn't actually get the scales or flakes to LEAVE. I saw another review (I think for the intensive version rather than the daily) that showed the same kind of skin flakiness I have and an actual improvement. Same active ingredients (didn't want to pay THAT price), and I figured I would try to actually apply each day to REALLY give it a chance. Tried it on my arms every day and the flakes really started lifting up after a few days, and there were fewer and fewer as it went on. I moved to my legs and other parts of my body after that and I'm telling you, it's crazy how the right tool for the job is true here. It is a bit oily or greasy in a way, but if you take the time to rub it in, it's not really an issue - I haven't seen any effects on my clothes. My skin has never felt so soft and like regular skin, I finally get to feel normal! Everyone's skin is different, so your mileage may vary, but this is going on subscribe and save for me.

Its got a strong smell, but it fades after a few minutes. Smells kind of like a perm. The smell doesn't bother me too much but it is there. I still give it 5 stars because of how great my skin looks after regular use. Its night and day. Its smoother and has less darks spots, and looks younger. I've had one too many sunburns but this has taken years off the appearance of my arms, and completely erased my KP as well. Layer it with Gold Bond Retinol body lotion and you'll get amazing results FAST.

To the people complaining the bottle isn't filled to the rim: It's measured by weight, not volume. More importantly, they intentionally leave space because you need to shake it. It states so directly on the bottle. This lotion has been working out great for me. The areas I apply it are feeling so soft & supple. It has a slight scent that I'm not sure how to describe (sorry), but it's light enough not to bother me. I specifically bought this for it's gentle exfoliation. One problem area is my neck; where, in recent years, I've gotten bumpy skin. Almost like a chicken skin. I saw some derms recommend this for that & I do think it may be helping some. I recommend giving this a try. Don't forget to shake!

Seems to be really good! It’s not greasy and absorbs into my skill very well. I have sensitive skin and eczema, and even tho my skin right now is very dry it didnt burn. The only downside is that it doesn’t have the most pleasant smell. If you want you can put a scented lotion over to cover the smell. For me the smell it’s not bad but it’s not good

Fantastic moisturiser! Is lightweight and not remotely greasy m, yet provides incredible hydration and leaves skin with a glass like appearance.

V. Good for moisturising your skin

I bought this as it was recommended by a dermatologist. It really is gentle, active and good value as a little goes a long way. I noticed my skin, smoother, hydrated and glowing after a very short time. I use it twice a week and use tretinoin twice a week.

Love this body lotion! It moisturises without being greasy and leaves your body super soft. It has no fragrance so it is suitable for my extremely sensitive skin . I've tried other body lotions from the pharmacy but either they had fragrance or they were too greasy . It has been only a month but I can already see a remarkable improvement in my skin condition.

I have dry skin and this lotion greatly helps me. Its very moisturizing but it doesn’t have a pleasant scent. Aside from the scent its a very good moisturizer.
