Powerful little box
This is a very impressive little effects box. Very little indeed but lots of power inside. I was a Line6 fan from the very beginning and still have a V1 POD that still works fine 20 years later. This certainly has more power but I am still working on the sound. Like most multi-effect / amp simulators, it is best to start from scratch instead of leaning on the presets although there are some very interesting ones. I mostly need a good Fender-ish amp model with very basic effects with occasional overdrive. The distortion in this box is smooth and doesn't seem to have the digital hash that some have. If I can find a good crunch sound then I will be set. As for the actual box, yes it is small and using it as a footswitch would be possible but difficult. I love the fact that it is rechargeable, can connect to both computer and mobile devices and small enough to fit in a guitar case. The app is fairly simple but does what it needs to do. Bottom line, this is very usable tool for a very good price.

The new King of Compact great sound!
Amp modelers are getting better and cheaper all the time. The SoniCake Pocket Master is the latest proof of that. This unit is truly the latest marvel in that it gives pretty good, believable tones, has a looper (albeit 10 sec.), full multi effects like bigger units and is about the size of an average cell phone. Why would you want this? Well... It will allow you to practice anywhere you can take your guitar - even acoustic or bass. It sounds great and you throw it in your guitar case and go. All of this and the rechargeability makes this whole package a player's dream. The SoniCake represents the fact that an amp modeler no longer has the be big and expensive to sound and feel good. To make it even better, there is a phone app that lets you dive deep into the settings to customize the presets.I've been practicing on this every day and highly recommend it for its sound and quality for what it's made for.

Delay is great, ignore the complaints. Don’t use a thick carpeting through.
Simple to learn, App works great. I was hesitant to buy this at first because some of the negative comments about the delay. I can only assume they didn’t actually take the time to learn how to edit and change the delay. It’s as good as any you’d find on a delay pedal. So I’m glad I ignored them. All the other effects are more than adequate. I travel and busk a lot and needed to replace my cluttered and cumbersome EQ/verb/del/tune pedal lineup - and brother, this was perfect for the job. Everything I need in something that only has slightly more mass than a deck of cards! As an acoustic player, I mainly use the simple clean FX. They are versatile, and as long as the unit isn’t plugged in charging, there is zero hum or self-noise coming from it. I cannot speak for the quality of the amp models. I have no need of them and don’t use them.My only recommendation of caution is that this may not work well on medium or thick carpeting. The foot switches are low profile and firm, so with squishy unsteady resistance underneath it, you have to press down much harder with your whole foot to hit both switches at the same time and go into tuning mode. Otherwise, what will happen is only one switch registers the press, and it ends up advancing to another preset instead. That doesn’t happen on hard floors or staging with thin carpeting. But at my church, there was a thick rug under where I play causing that aforementioned problem. Had to roll up the rug and get it out of the way. Then it worked fine on the normal flooring. If you have thick wall-to-wall installed carpet you would probably want to put something firm under the pedal like a hardcover book, or cutting board, or something to that effect.

Great value for what it is... a very portable practice or recording rig
First of all, let's make sure we set our perception straight. I am not comparing this against the $1000 pedals, effects racks or anything "pro" level. This is exactly great for what I want to use it for. A portable rig that I can throw in my guitar or bass bag/case and practice, create, jam while hooked to either headphones or a speaker.First, let's address the noise issue. Yes, there is a bit of a noise floor on this effects pedal. It has a built in noise gate that takes care of most of it. But its not so annoying that it drones constantly. The gate can take care of it. You're not going to use this as a primary rig to record or play live though. Maybe if you're first starting out, its a great cheap way to get into it, but it passes for a decent rig. Only taking off 1/2 star for the noise.Second, lets address the effects. Are there a bunch? Yes! Are there some good ones? Yes! Are there some bad ones? Yes! Can you get a usable tone out of this? ABSOLUTELY! Will you be able to get an SLO-100 or a Big Muff, or an Ampeg SVT sound? Absolutely not. Can you get in the ballpark? Maybe. Realize that at this price point, you're not going to get the same as something that's 10X the price. You can load NAM profiles with the new firmware. Can it get you closer? A little. 1/2 star reduction for the effects. Passable, some are good, nothing spectacular, but really good for the price point.Next, lets address the best part and the real reason to find value, is the connectivity and portability! As a practice rig, I can play songs through it via bluetooth. I can clip it onto my guitar or bass strap and plug in my headphones and wander around the house without disturbing anyone. As a creativity rig, whenever it strikes, I can connect it to my PC & DAW via USB or to my phone via USB and record. It's got a rechargeable LiON battery so I don't have to keep switching rechargeable AA's or 9V's.Bottom line, its a surprisingly great value to practice, learn a setlist, test out a few ideas, record stuff on the go and whatever else you want to do with a small portable rig.

Ah what a great time for guitarists....
What a time to be a guitar player!!! This is a great sounding amps-effects device for the price of a couple of Big Mac meals! Just buy it, it sounds great, super compact, can be used as a headphone amp un it, emergency backup to your stage setup, it is quite impressive.
