Just what I wanted! A “Happy Puppy”!!!!!!!!!
I was looking for a bigger thimble than the one my wife gave me and when I ordered the largest size in this model I finally had what I had been needing. I stay up slot at night from all my years of working night shifts. So to have something to do while RV is back-round noise I stick up our little dogs favorite pheasant toys that he tries his hardest to kill every day when we play or when he goes up to as my wife’s calls it ( let’s go see air peoples and they head up to grandma and grandpa’s house with a little container of chicken that they like to feed Special Ed as he chases and plays with his stuffed toy pheasants ) he has four or five up there and usually over the course of the week a coupe are returned to our house for repairs. I’ve been sewing these for a couple of years now as we have about seven or so in rotation ( just purchased five more ) so I continue to stick these up and I’ve found that if I double and triple stitch the spots he tears up that he can no longer rip it right there and it also gives him sop specific to bite on which s what he likes. So this is where the thimble comes in handy. When you start double and triple stitching or getting right next to a previous repair it gets Almost Impossible to Get the Needle thru sometimes and I was previously using to small of a thimble ( fit my little finger only ) Now with the large thimble I am able to use my index finger ( FAT FINGER ) to push the needle thru much easier and more controlled. I Also Like the Grooved Sides as once you get the needle pushed part way thru these tight spots you need to continue to pull it thru and it sometimes is very tuff to do. With the grooves as you squeeze onto the needle with side of the thimble and your thumb the grooves kinda bind on to the needle if you put enough pressure against it and can eventually tug the needle thru these really tuff spots do it has made a rep as it job a lot simpler and my finger is no longer raw or bleeding anymore. Gotta Keep Eddie Happy as he loves to play every day. Just saying do you want to go play or go see grandma and grandpa gets him jumping up and down. And as we all know there is nothing like a “HAPPY PUPPY”! C.N.

Smart top
Not a happy camper at try-on: immediately orderd the XL in the hopes they truly are extra large. I like a snug thimble but not painful. The one I received is very nice to use, but it is too tight and sits too high. I generally use just one thimbled finger so this will join the pile in the drawer. Hopefully, the XL is good. I do not have what I call large anything so for me to require an EXTRA LARGE is most unusual. I may suggest unless you can read these widths and depths, go up a size. With metal there is some flexibility in a light plier squeeze to tighten should it be too big (very little chance), HEY< I like this: Like the metal, the feel, the weight, I am just confused about sizing which is exactly why I need this, right?

Great basic thimble
Measures 16mm inside. My ring size is 4 at the base if my nail. A person's ring size at the base of their finger doesn't translate to thimble sizes. This thimble is sturdier and keeps the needle from slipping so much better than the ones that come in inexpensive kits. I can almost forget that I am wearing it as it doesn't get in the way. I have many thimbles, including the leather ones with a metal coin. This one is much better. The leather one has seams the needle sometimes slips in between. I think I might form this one in an oval so it is even more comfortable. For finding your size, this is a great thimble before spending a lot on a silver thimble. As an aside, a ball bearing can be hammered against the back to give a little flare which might be more comfortable for some finger shapes.

Fits well
I just received the Driz thimble, size extra large. I am a hand quilter and have always had problems with most thimbles being too small for my middle finger. There was a lot of research put into this selection and everything I read about this size Driz thimble said that it was 3/4" in diameter, which is the diameter of my current thimble. I ordered in hopes it was correct. And it is. Inside the thimble, it is listed as "Prym size 12, 18mm". If anything, it may be a scant bit too big but that is easily fixed by lining the inside edge with a thin strip of cloth bandage tape. I do that with my current one. Much better a bit too big than too small. So, I am satisfied. I may have paid a little more money by ordering this online but, due to the fact that I can't find any extra large thimbles in brick and mortar stores anywhere in my area, I would say the price was worth it.

For Menly Men Who Need A Thimble
Yeah, I said it. Men need thimbles too. And the cute little Monopoly game piece my wife uses barely fits my pinky. No, I don't know how to use a sewing machine. But I have patched more than 50 holes in pants and shirts my three tiny humans have made in their clothes over the last three years. Last year I decided to push myself and sewed a bunch of felt bones to a gray sweat suit to make my son's skeleton costume. This year, I made a full out hooded poncho from felt..completely hand sewn. Did it take several hours...yes...would most people who know how to use a sewing machine have completed this project in a fraction of the time...probably. But you know what, with a needle, some thread, and this freakin beast of a thimble, we got it done and it looks awesome.Have tried a few options and this is still my favorite so far.

Large means “women’s large”
Darn thing is NOT for a man. Medium at best man-wise.

Works fine
Just 4 stars as a prettier design would be nice! For the price and practical use it was fine and serves the purpose.

To the rescue of a man with large hands who sews.
No longer do those with large hands who sew need to put itty bitty thimbles on the top of pinky fingers. This is a thimble of substance that fits larger fingers and the dimples at the top are deep enough for the forced needle to not slip out.

Robust
Thick and rigid with heavy texture and deep pattern of indents on end. No more needles sliding into finger.

sturdy
This thimble is much more robust than the thin ones I have purchased at Fabricland. As long as I don't lose it this one will last me a very long time. Solid, sturdy, robust!

work well
works as you'd expect. Large isn't overly large. thick hands will need a bigger size

Sizing
I wear a men's size large glove. The extra large is just big enough to fit my index finger.
