EGO Power+ ME0820 8-in Multi-Head Edger with Carbon Fiber Shaft and Power Head PH1420, Pairs Multi-Head System, Battery and Charger Not Included.

I started with the pro weed whacker (and it’s a beast). Added the 10” fan with mister next (it too is amazing). Then decided to get the multi-tool when my edger “expired.” I have to say that this is by far the best edger I’ve ever owned (so far). The torque is amazing and it cuts through dirt like it’s not even there. My old gas edger died last year so I went an entire season without edging until today. The lawn had fully grown to the driveway as a result, and anyone doing their own yard work knows what that means. When I unpackaged the thing, the “blade” that it came with had no edge at all so I worried that it might not do the job; however, after the first 2 seconds (on low), I realized there wouldn’t be an issue. This thing cut through the dirt and grass as if it wasn’t there. I also ran it at “full throttle” (on low) for a good 45 minutes or so total (big yard) and the 5ah battery hardly moved a bar. Took all of 20 seconds minutes or so to recharge it. After using gas all these years and scoffing at electric, I have to say that I am now a convert. EGO all the way!

Got sucked down this rabbit hole. Ego power tools are the best. I bought this to complement my weed wicker, but also wanted the multi-tool. I will own all of the accessories…he said in a voice only his inner monologue could hear. He carefully looked at his wife to ensure she wasn’t listening. Safe! She cuts like a dream, not light, but not too heavy to control while you tame your yard. I’m talking about the edger, not the wife now. Reasonably priced for a tool you will use and have for years. Totally expandable. Can’t wait to add the snow blower. Arkansas winters can be brutal, unless you wait a day, then it’s all gone. Highly recommend.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: A friend knew I had Ego products - two lawnmowers, snowblower, weed whacker, leaf blower... So he gave me a power system like this with a little snow thrower end. I did some research, and saw it was the older version of the power shaft, so wanted to upgrade as well as get an edger. My current edger is just a generic one that is corded so it's a bit of a pain. This worked perfectly. The downside for me is the single wheel, so it's not as stable as the corded one. But I didn't even take off a star for that since the cordless ability far outweighs that. A bit more power on this one than the one the guy gave me, and slightly different layout, but still works well. I only have the two attachments so far, but I may be adding to them soon... Ego just works. Never an issue with any of my equipment for over 8 or so years now.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I am absolutely amazed by the EGO Power Head system and how it has transformed my yard work on our property filled with trees and brush. Purchasing the power head along with the pole saw attachment was a game-changer, simplifying all my tasks effortlessly. Right from the first use, I was completely sold on this product, as with all EGO tools. Initially concerned about battery expenses, the savings on gas and the overall convenience quickly outweighed it. Now, I am a proud owner of a full set of EGO tools, including a lawn mower, snow blower, leaf blower, trimmer, chainsaw, in addition to the power head and its accessories. I highly recommend these products; they have truly exceeded all my expectations.

Adding this edger to my Ego collection has been a great move. Since I already have several batteries from other tools, I opted for the tool only version. One of the best things about this ecosystem is that any of the batteries work with any tool, which saved me some money here. I use this with the multi head system, and it is very easy to swap it out for my hedge trimmer or pole saw. Performance: I am a novice at lawn maintenance, but this tool made quick work of edges that hadn't been touched in over six months. It's powerful enough to rip through lots of excess grass and is quite sensitive to the throttle with how strong it spins. Because I had skipped an entire season of edging, the first pass was quite laborious and a bit of a workout. It does get heavy over time and will tax your body more than pushing a lawn mower would, but it is definitely doable. The second time I used it was much easier and faster without all that excess grass in the way. Functionality: the edger seems to only work in one direction with the blade on the right side. I didn't see a way to switch it to the left, so I just walk it down the line and then back up. It leaves the lawn looking very clean and crisp. It has already paid for itself now that I don't have to pay contractors to do it for me. I also like the edger blade is metal and doesn't have to be replaced by a line feed.

Easy to put together. Works well. Definitely has enough power to get the job done.

I LOVE THIS EDGER!! So quiet and so powerful! Light in the hands and uses the universal 56V battery my other power tools use. I'd buy 4 of these if I actually had the need.
