Q: Half the answers to where it's made say china, and the other half say japan. i'm guessing japanese company but chinese manufacture?

Mine states it was made in China. I have to say, it is the BEST carafe I have owned. I make (percolate) coffee at 5:00am workdays and pour it into the carafe @ 6:15. It is still hot when I get home @ 3:00.

Q: At the top (without the lid), what is the outside diameter? I know the internal mouth is 2 1/2", but I want the outside dimension. Thanks.

The distance inside between the two elements on the sides that hold the lid in place is 2 3/4". The rest of the inner rim is 3 1/8" apart. The outside measurement, side to side, is 3 3/8". From the back of the rim (not including the handle) to the front, including the pouring spout, is 4 1/8"

Q: Is there a replacement gasket for this? I accidentally cut mine.
