Nice 16MP camera
Installed into Windows 11 easily. Very nice resolution. Bought this for use with Lightburn on my Laser. 170° is TOO wide and gave Lightburn fits. After fooling with calibration in Lightburn a couple hours, I got it to calibrate and it works GREAT. If you need a nice WIDE angle camera this is it! If you want for laser and Lightburn, get one that's less then 150° FOV.

An interesting little project camera... video only I guess.
Starting with... I couldn't figure out how to get a 16MP shot out of the camera. I used the recommended software, and I followed the directions and I couldn't get anything larger than a 800x600 photo. It bombs out on 1280x720, 1920x1080 and anything above.Which is a shame because the video is somewhat nice in good lighting. It's not quite the level of my smartphone, but it's definitely better than any of the PCB cameras I've been exposed to.I was thinking of using this to try and retrofit in an old rangefinder film camera, but I'm not entirely sure how that'd shake out without being able to take photos.Maybe it's just the software? But, what are the chances that some code I could write could do a better job than the softer that the manufacturer suggested I use?

Quite Small and as Advertised
Seems like a decent plug and play camera with no issues in build quality or useability. Would recommend to try it out.

An interesting bit of tech
I must confess I got this more out of curiosity than need. It's a very fascinating little webcam! As advertised it works out of the box via USB, no additional drivers needed - but that's where the commonalities with a normal webcam end. When you start to view the feed you will notice it puts out a single signal reminiscent of SBS 3D movies.Someone smarter than me could probably use this for something other than goofing around, likely could do some depth detection and robotics tasks. Me, I'll just use it for recording 3D movies that I can playback on my VR headset!

Not production, looks like prototype
The description pictures of the camera are exactly the way it looks. It shows a PCB with 2 cameras, a USB-C connection, and a few resister/capacitor packs and other IC's. That's exactly how it came, but wrapped in bubble wrap. So this isn't something that you're going to mount on your PC or tripod and use "as-is". You will have to create something that hold it. That's not a problem if you have a 3D printer. The camera is pretty much plug-n-play. It worked right out of the box in MS-Teams and a couple of linux applications. I couldn't get it to work with VLC using DirectShow. But that might be my configuration wasn't right. The camera is up-side-down from my perspective. The USB-C connector is on the top, not the bottom. The description page suggests that you can use the wide angle of the two cameras to stream a single wide angle image. That doesn't seem to be the case. If you have software that can stitch the two images, that might work. However, my software only displayed a side-by-side 3D image. This seems like a pretty nifty prototype, but I don't think that it's a production grade product yet.

Pretty cool little camera rig for a robot
So my robot it still a work in progress, this camera rig makes the stereo vision part pretty easy. It just works out of the box, nothing funky to setup. But I am sure there is a million different applications for an easy to setup stereo camera rig.

Nice 3D Stereo Camera
I don't have a use right now for this but I like to make things so I figure I will use it at some point. I was wonder how this was going to show up on the computer. To my surprise the stream from both cameras are sent as one stream with the image side by side so you don't have to have stereo software to see the dual camera view. This would make it much easier to add to your project. No drivers where required to get this to work on my Windows 11 PC. This camera does not have a mic that I can tell.

High Res Embedded Camera
Product Reviewed: 16MP USB Camera Module 170° Wide Angle M12 for $70TL;DR; High resolution; 10-30 fps in testing; good optics; replaceable lens fixed with potting compoundI’ve given up on commercial “web” (really proprietary cloud) cams to a great extent and I’m in the process of replacing cameras with more open home brew solutions.I’ve reviewed a few of this brand “ELP” and not been disappointed. This particular version has a very wide angle lens and Video for Linux reports resolutions/frame rates from 4Kx10fps to 1080px30fps all very adequate for my purposes.$70 for a raw board doesn’t seem all that attractive price wise but the optics are good by my eye and the lens is replaceable if you want to break the potting compound seal on the threads (see pics).Although I think there are better values this is everything is says it is. 5 Stars. How I review:Reviews start with 5 stars and I subtract points.- 0 for value but I try to provide guidance-0.5 to -3 for product not matching description e.g. stainless steel is actually plated steel-0.5 to -3 for product missing badly on executionI select products carefully so low (1-3 scores) are rare but detailed comments and critiques almost always are in the review. Most of my reviews come out 4-5 range. If possible I dismantle or destroy items to examine inner workings.
