This is a good quality vent. It easily fastened to the standard 4" pipe from the existing installation, with the groove cut for the pipe "spine". The vendor not including screws makes sense, since the product will be used in so many different ways. I needed 2" screws for my application. As others have stated, the outer hood fits a bit loosely, but a small screw driven through the top of the cover into the bottom "frame" solves that. Just back the screw out when you want to delint the cage. The louvers are a second defense against critters. All in all a smart product I can easily recommend.

Well made and working just fine. When I purchased my house the previous owner had put a louver that didn't have cover to keep the birds out. Needless to say eventually the birds found their way in and into my dryer. They actually built a nest in my dryer outlet, which caused my dryer to trip the over temp protection. Thank goodness for the over temp device or my house would've, could've caught fire. We installed this a few months ago and it working just fine. Still in place and no birds.

Gotta do some drilling into the brick, but once done, it is clear sailing. So far so good.

This was easy to install. We removed the previous vent that was fastened to the end of the dryer vent tube. The blades on that one weren't moving as easily as they should and it tended to get lint caught. This one has two pieces - the piece that screws into the wall to hold it all in place but then a removable louver and cage section to make clean out much easier.

Easy to install although I wish the outer cage snapped together more snugly. First one kept falling off and I expect this will start happening with this one soon enough.Holes are probably not rodent proof but I haven’t found a better alternative. I like the parts that fit against the house and especially like that I don’t have to unscrew anything to periodically check for internal blockage. My shingles have seen better days and the less I mess with them the better.

Must say I'm impressed with the way it was redesigned. It's the same unit as when we built our home in 2009. Only reason we had to replace it was neighbors tree branch knocked it out. Otherwise I'm sure it would have lasted even longer than we'd expected. Thank You for quality.

I recently installed this to replace my existing dryer vent cover. It was easy to install, and I can easily remove the cover to clean without having to unscrew anything. The plastic quality is good and much stronger than some of the similarly priced options I saw at Home Depot.

Was so much easier to install than I thought it would be. Had to caulk inside as you can’t caulk outside or you won’t be able to pull them apart to clean. Love the 3 piece design, super simple to clean and put back together. To prevent accidentally blowing off or getting bumped off, I put a small brass screw in top of the cage as it is not clipped on super tight. Flaps still

Plastic that the hood is made of is thicker and of better quality than almost all other hoods available at local stores. Really like the 3 piece design that allows you to quickly remove not just the cage but the louvred to have full access to the duct for complete removal of lint.Time will tell if the clip-on design of the cage and the lovers is durable and reliable, and not prone to falling off.

This one replaced the 20 year old hooded flapper valve with no basket. In a wind, the flapper would vibrate at 150 beats a minute and echo throughout the house. I also often wondered if small rodents could access the house through it. The new one is very easy to install, quiet in the wind and has an easy to clean basket for bird and animal security. Five star for me! And well priced...
