I love this beard balm! It's part of my routine now, I have the Mountaineer beard wash and oil, too. And I use the beard wash in the shower and after I dry off I rub some of the beard oil in my beard and then I rub some of the beard balm in, and I definitely notice that my beard is softer now. Before using these Mountaineer beard products I was experiencing an itchy dry skin underneath my beard for a while and I don't have that anymore. I like the scent. It's not overpowering in the least bit, So basically you only smell it when you put it on and then you never smell it again all day, which is a good thing in my opinion. To be honest I haven't used many beard balms out there, but I don't think I'll be buying any other ones because this one does a good job, I like the way it smells, it makes my beard softer, I like the creamy texture of it once you've warmed it up in your hands, and It's just really nice to know the product you're using is all natural, and you're supporting a small company. So yeah, this is my go to bearded and mustache brand and I'm just taking the time to let you know you should try it!

This is one of the best balms I have used.It works great for me since I had a pretty wirey beard and it really helped to tame it down and give it some much needed softness. I first started growing my beard a little under a year ago and bought bunch of different balms and oils. There was a tangible difference in how my beard felt. Days I used other balms or oils, my beard felt dry and scratchy. However when I used this it felt soft and well nourished. It isnt like other balms that try to style your beard, that have more waxey texture, this is like a balance between a balm and a an oil. Really brings out the colour in my beard and smells good too.Before I moved to Japan I bought like six jars of it so my beard wouldnt suffer while I live here.

Im new to this beard trend ...and a friend of mine recommended to get some beard balm and essential oils to stop the itchiness when its in that between stage of growing. I tried many different brands... the Mountaineer brand has everyone beat as far as quality of ingredients... i can tell by how my beard feels looks and grows. It makes my beard so much healthier smoother and tamable! The smell is great! I never before got compliments on how healthy and great my beard look until like 2 weeks after I started using the essential oil and balm when i get out the shower! Smells great, the consistency is a bit thinner than burts bees lip balm. My woman described it as smelling a little like skittles with a bit of fir at the end to cut down on the strength of the citrus. The smell does combine very well with the cedar and fir mustache wax. Great stuff!EDITI stand by my earlier statement, and after using it for about a week I can now review its effects. I've bumped my rating down to 4 stars. It does well in giving a bit more control over the hair and provides fuller appearance which is wonderful. It has not been softening my beard, in fact I have noticed my beard is loosing its softness. I was using primarily coconut oil before investing in this, and since receiving it I have switched completely to the balm. It does not contain jojoba oil, or argan oil. To be clear, it does not claim to, nor am I trying to say that it does. It is my personal belief that the inclusion of a sizable portion of one or more of these oils instead of the grapeseed or especially the castor oil would be EXTREMELY beneficial. Also making coconut oil a larger portion of the recipe would help. I've noticed that not only is my beard getting rougher, the balm does not absorb into the beard. It remains as a film on the hair giving it a lovely, lustrous shine... That leaves your fingers feeling greasy after running them through your beard for the rest of the many hours in the day. Using less balm only helps by leaving a thinner, less noticeable film. A film remains, none the less.Ultimately, great scent! For the price I suppose they can't use jojoba or argan, but at least replace an oil (the castor oil specifically) with a more readily absorbed oil.

Plastic lid on item was cracked. Was unable to seal it properly. Because of the cracked lid.

I intended to order the coal scent but somehow ordered original. I had used the same one scent balm by other brand for 5 years, finally decided to try something new and scent was really an important part of the decision. Was extremely apprehensive about a citrusy smelling balm, wanted something woodsy without any girly perfume going on- which is why I ordered the coal scent. Very by original, it is citrusy, but also very piney and almost peppery smelling. The balm itself works great, more hold than prior balm which lacked beeswax. Good stuff, will buy more.

I bought the original scent. Smells like menthol. I didn't like it at all. And the most important part, the hold is very weak. One of the most disappointing beard balms I ever tried. Wondering why the good reviews and high rating!

Fantastic stuff. This is my first beard balm I’ve tried and it does exactly what I wanted, leaving it itch free and very soft. The scent is perfect as well, nice subtle citrusy scent with a hint of pine or something. Fades away after about 15-20 min. I ordered the original and will be ordering again once I run out. I imagine this container lasting a month or so if i use it daily. For $5 this deal is by far the best of any beard balms on amazon or even In stores. Thanks Mountaineer!!
