It is easy to dismiss this at a glance, as a gimmicky or novelty item, when in actual fact it can provide serious relief when you are in acute discomfort. My wife recently came home from work complaining of an aching neck after a long day bent over a computer, and this genuinely helped relieve tension in the neck. I recently pulled something in my shoulder blade and again, this helps provide relief. The design of this is such that it sits on the shoulders, and as such it seems to be described primarily as a neck and shoulder massager. In reality however, it can be used anyway you have pain although a bit of adjustment might be needed to get it quite right. for example, if you have pulled your calf muscle or a thigh muscle, you can strap this round your leg. Alternatively, if you’ve hurt for example your lower back, you can lie down and place it on your lower back and strap it round your waist. The massage rollers work better if a little bit of pressure is applied to the rollers, so they “dig in” a little, so you may need a partner to kind of press down on them a little to get the most out of it, so this is why it seems more effective on the neck or shoulders when you can kind of pull down on it from the front in order to apply pressure. There are four buttons easily accessible when in use. They are: on/off, speed, Direction and heat. (Heat is automatically activated whenever you switch it on initially). This comes in an excellent quality carry bag and a couple of cables so you have a choice of power supply. I really like this. You only seem to get the most out of it however when you are injured, but make no mistake, when you need it it does provide relief. Review: Pain relief - This was easy to set up and understand how to use all the various functions. It sits well on my shoulders and has a good weight on it. The massaging modes (5) are good and each one has different pulses and intensity. The heating settings work well as well, however i expected it to be much warmer on the highest setting, which unfortunately wasn't. The quality of the products material is soft and gives a nice cushioned feeling. This also would probably best fit those with medium-large shoulders.

Pain relief

Convenient but not as powerful
While this is a nice addition to my collection of massage tools (yes, I have too many), I was not impressed by the power of the vibration or the heating. The biggest advantage of this is that it is very portable and easy to put on. You can wear it as if it were a jacket and it is light enough that you would notice it. It would be more convenient if it allowed for wireless operation. To its benefit, the build quality is really good and it feels very sturdy. The different massage modes do not feel particularly different, but that's something that most of these device offer even if, personally, I do not feel it adds much to the product and its functionality. Overall, convenient but probably not my go-to massage tool.

A fantastic heated massager
The Sharper Image Heated Vibrating Massager is a nice way to unwind after a long day. The combination of heat and vibration helps ease muscle tension in the neck, shoulders, and back. With adjustable heat levels and five massage modes, it’s easy to find a setting that works. It’s lightweight and comfortable to wear, though the vibration is more gentle than deep tissue massage. If you’re looking for soothing warmth and light relief rather than intense pressure, this is a great option for relaxation.

It’s to large for most women
It was to big it didn’t sit round my shoulders or back so it did nothing for me… far to big for small/ petite women…
