Tory Burch: In Color

Lovely color, but, my God, there must be fifty photos of Tory in the first fifteen pages. And she clearly has a thing about her parents. I mean really has a thing about her parents. Yet we learn nothing about them other than that they were very stylish and lived very well.Then her "tennis gang" which is exclusively wealthy, well-connected New Yorkers. If your name isn't Rockefeller, or Cuomo, you clearly need not apply.The photos are lovely, but all of the snapshots of her "gang", her family, etc., are the size of postage stamps. How are you supposed to really see them? And the type throughout the book is too small with the picture captions virtually requiring a magnifying glass.Her clothes are really well photographed, however, with resort being her strong suit. She shows excellent shots (from past Vogue articles) of her home, but, hey, we saw these in Vogue. Can she add a few more please?You certainly have to give her plaudits for recognizing the contributions of her entire management team: lots of group photos, with names, and she conveys a good vibe with these employees for someone who is obviously a control freak.

This was far more than the coffee table book I expected. I ordered the book months ago from Tory Burch because I am a self-admitted Tory-phile. I love her clothes, shoes and purses so much that I need a special Burch room in my house. She has such a sense of style and color for someone so young, and she is clearly an accomplished businesswoman.This fascinating book does contain many pictures, but it is also filled with narrative. What a interesting life Tory led. I knew she came from a Main Line family, but I had no idea who her parents are. Now I understand why she names her clothing. All the ballet shoes are named after her mother, a ballerina for years.For anyone who likes Tory Burch, I highly recommend this book. And what a great gift it would make!

I thought this book would be about fashion and decorating--especially the beautiful Daniel Romauldez rooms designed for Tory. Instead there is page after page after page after page of photos of her parents. She seems to be obsessed with trying to convince her readers that she is of good breeding. As obsessive as these photos are, I believe there was something very wrong with her upbringing AND her parents. There is also page after page after page after page of photos her kids. And page after page after page after page of other people and their comments. There are a very few pages of her houses, but there is what amounts to an ad for Romauldez and his house. The very few fashions shown are definitely not her best.Advice to Tory--No one buys a fashion and lifestyle book to look at your kids or your parents. May of us are of good breeding. We do not need to obsessively point it out, because we actually ARE of good breeding and DID grow up with stylish, tasteful parents. I hope her success has a good impact on her problems.Definitely a waste of money.

I love coffee table books and couldn't wait until I receive Tory Burch's "In Color". Each section is divided into chapter's by color. She not only has great pictures for inspiration, there's a birdeye's view into her childhood and drink recipes. I read the entire book front to back before posted my reviewing and I can definitely say it was well worth the money. Plus I purchased it at discount from the price available on her website, so that was a bonus.

Purchased this as a gift but ended up keeping it for myself (sounds so narcissistic!). I was mesmerized by what an absolutely fabulous book this is! Brilliant colors, beautifully inspiring photos, and magical creativity on each page! Perfect effortlessly chic coffee table book!

This book is lovely and inspirational. Tory is a beautiful brand pushing color and entrepreneurial vision. Not only is this beautiful on your coffee table but also on the business woman’s desk.

One of my favourite coffee table books- barely a week goes by where I don't have a flick through. Plus it's a gorgeous colour!

A gift that was really excelkent

Finally got my hands on them!I needed this for university research and now it's my coffee table book!!

A different title for this book could have been - "Inspiration is Everywhere". As you see the world through Tory's eyes, she makes you believe that you just need to be mindful and present to be inspired. Also, the writing is personal, yet not an autobiography. Highly recommend it to design enthusiasts.
