A bit pricey, but it's worth the money spent
Pricey, but well worth the money. Having grown up in the tropics where fresh - NOT FRESH, FROZEN- calamari is easily available, I missed having calamari en su tinta. Here we can buy beautiful fresh, frozen (isn't that an oxymoron? ๐) squid but the ink sacs are gone. This Nortindal jar of cooking magic solves that dilemma. It's a big jar, one only needs about 2 tablespoons per dish ..... It's worth it. Besides, open it, use what you need, store the rest in the refrigerator. It will keep for a while.

A little goes a long way
You will get a lot of cuttlefish ink in this container. If you use it often, you may see the value in the purchase. If you use it sparingly - maybe once a month like myself - it's a bottomless abyss of inky goodness. I've personally used it for making black pasta, using no more than a tablespoon at a time. As such, I'll probably only use about half the jar before it expires. That said, if you're planning on getting this to experiment, try finding a smaller container, and certainly go for it. If you're going to use it full-time, such as in a buffet or restaurant setting, have at it! As per the quality of the ingredient and the taste, it's almost a non-issue: the taste is appropriately subtile!

This is Cuttle Fish Ink, not Squid Ink: Similar but Different
I ordered this and was upset because, while they are similar, this is Cuttlefish ink (look at the lable), not squid ink. It is a brown-black not a blue-black. They did offer to let me return it, but they did not feel they had mis-represented the product. I disagree.

Excellent product
Good quantity and quality for the price. Came appropriately packaged. Just diluted with pasta water and made creamier with butter - tasted just like we had in Venice.
