Mice pie makers.
Works like it is supposed to. Cooked a few pudgy pies. Some pizza and fruit filled pies. These are aluminum, so don't set them down directly into the coals. Cast iron handles intense heat better, but these aluminum heat up evenly when in the flame. My pies were cooked evenly and tasted just like i remember from when i was young. They are aluminum, so you don’t have to season them like you do the cast iron, which makes them a little easier to take care of.

Good quality
This is the best mountain pie maker we have ever used. We had an old one from many years ago and were excited to find a new one. It seals the edges very nice and make a yummy camp snack

Very disappointed.
Although they say in the discretion (cast iron) it's definitely NOT CAST IRON. It's pot metal. A magnet won't stick to it. I'd return it, but my Grandson already used it.

Awesome mountain pie maker
Camped with my grandparents growing up in the 80's. They handed two of these irons down to me that i still have. They are hands down the best mountain pie irons ever made. Cast Aluminum instead of iron helps the bread not burn before the insides are done. The crimping edge seals the pies up perfectly. Recently went camping and was looking for two additional irons, looked up the manufacturer of those my grandparents handed me down, and low and behold they still make them and they're the exact same quality, fit, and finish 30+ years later! Can't recommend them highly enough, you won't find a better pie iron anywhere.

We love it!
We prefer this style over the cast iron ones. The crimped edges are great for keeping everything together.

My family bought pie irons in the early 90’s with the crimp on the edge and we loved them. Somewhere along the line everyone stopped having the crimp, which in my mind makes it work soooo much better sealing the edges. I have been looking for YEARS for another crimped edge pie iron. I ordered these this summer and we used them well, it’s only been a couple months and so far we love them.
