Good cheap alternative to tiles and look very good once you've lined them up and stuck them on

These classic 'metro' style tiles add a fresh, clean look to a bathroom or kitchen (although NB, plastic products shouldn't be used near any heat sources in the kitchen). I wanted to ensure a more wipeable surface around some recycling and food bins, given some items end up splashing on the wall behind.Fortunately I could start from a level skirting board, although it would be essential to use a spirit level to mark up a straight line as a starting point otherwise.With the interlocking 'brick' effect of this design you have to allow for straightening one side of the tiles by cutting off the projecting half 'bricks', and making sure you keep them for filling in gaps on the final tiles on the opposite side (as advised in the instructions). The tiles are pretty thin, so relatively easy to cut. However, this also means they probably wouldn't match very well to existing ceramic tiles, as they would project a lot less.The main advantage is you don't have to mess around with tile adhesive, or particularly grout. The plastic finish also means the tiles won't be prone to the grubby marks (or mildew) that tend to build up on real grout. The thin profile also means you don't need beading to finish off the edges.I'm not sure how much damage the adhesive would do to the wall, if and when you wanted to remove the tiles though.

Gave these to my son to cover some very dated kitchen tiles. He’s in a rental property so is limited to what he can do to decorate. The tiles in his kitchen had seen better days and he wanted something to cover them. These tiles were just the job. Very easy to cut to size and simple to apply. The tiles are in a sheet which is a decent size so you can cover a larger area quickly. Not sure how well they would fare in a bathroom but as a kitchen backsplash they worked fine.

I got these to stick on the wall next to our dishwasher, as we quite often accidentally spill stuff on the painted wall when putting something in the dishwasher so wanted a quick solution to make that section of the wall wipe clean.They're quite thin, but easy to apply and they look much better than I expected. It is a little difficult to align them straight, but as long as you don't fully stick them down it's quite easy to readjust.I do recommend reading the instructions as we didn't bother and applied the first row incorrectly - it still worked fine, but they joins are definitely more seamless when applying correctly!They're a little pricey considering you only get 10 in the box, so could become costly if you have a large area to cover.

These peel-and-stick tiles are a great way to refresh a space quickly. The 3D effect adds a nice texture, and they feel good to the touch. While the tiles are a bit thin, they are durable once applied and hold up well over time. They’re perfect for kitchens and bathrooms, and the waterproof feature makes them practical for splashbacks.

A pack of self adhesive tiles to use in kitchen and bathrooms. Waterproof with very good adhesion. Very easy to fit and it comes with great instructions. I especially like the design for fitting together it gives a seamless appearance. A great product, photos to follow when I have finished.
