Solid Luggage Lock, with some security caveats...
I purchased this for a trip to England in a month to use with my luggage. I went through countless reviews and product descriptions to find one I was satisfied with. My criteria was a four digit code, high visibility, and good reviews. This one seemed to hit all the marks. First of all, it is a heavy little lock. It came in the simple cardboard packaging with simple print on it. Inside the package were the two lock in separate plastic baggies and instruction. These lock allow you to set your own combination. They come set to 0000 and the instruction tell you how to set your own. Do not overthink it. I had no problem doing both lock the first time. They fit on my luggage well and give it a boost in visibility with bright yellow color. Seems this lock is a five star lock, so why did i give it four stars? Simple, the black on the side is plastic. I don't know if it covering metal or not. To me, plastic has no place on any locks other than as a bump guard. The other reason for a four star review is that, if I wanted to, i am absolutely positive I could get into this with a screwdriver and I could do it quickly. The shank does not lock down into the body very far. I think this will hold up fine for airlines but don't think that no body can get into your suitcase. This will just slow them down. I bought this mainly to keep my luggage from opening. One very nice feature as mentioned in other reviews is the use of black dials with white lettering. Makes this super easy to see and open even if I am not wearing my glasses. All combo locks should use this method. This is not left my garage yet, but I will update how things go when I get back from over yonder. At the moment, I think i can recommend these locks just based on current experience in setting them up and using them.

Nice Yellow Lock
I like it and its sturdy enough. This is how you set the new combination:PLEASE FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO SET YOUR COMBINATION1. Set the combination to 0-0-0-0. (Pic a).2. Align the numbers with the window on the side of the lock. Pull the shackle up to open the lock (Pic b).3. Rotate the shackle 90 degrees counterclockwise then press it all the way down (Pic C). Continue to press down on the shackle as you rotate it another 90 degrees counterclockwise (Pic d).4. Set your combination by turning the dials. The new combination in picture e is 9999 .5. Turn the shackle back to its original position. Your new combination has now been set (Pic f).

Sturdy, convenient, and inexpensive suitcase locks
These locks are very easy to reset the combinations and they don't seem like they can be easily pulled off. The enameled body seems very wear resistant and the bow appears to be steel, not aluminum, which is what you'd want in a lock. As far as I know, TSA never had to open my bags, but I think these have some sort of a special key slot that they can use to open it instead of cutting the lock off.If you're considering these for something other than suitcases, then you might want to look elsewhere, though.

Strongly recommended, all-around winner
I really like these. A friend got some for a trip she was taking, and after seeing them, I decided to get some, too. Small and sturdy. Very easy to set your own combination. Clear instructions (rare with a lot of products). Very easy to read dial. Great price.

Great luggage lock
The locks are what the advertisement says. Easy to set your own code. Pretty tough little lock. The quality seems to be very good. Although a little pricey, I bought a 2nd set for my wife. These can’t keep a determined thief out of your luggage, but it will stop someone who just has a minute to sneak a peek to look for something to steal.

4 number code, easy to program and with a "shaft protector" so it can't be pried open easily.
I had a lock similar in size (only 3 digits) on my gym locker until one day, someone pulled it hard enough to allow just enough space to open the lock and steal my wallet. This lock as a small shaft-protector that makes prying much harder! In addition, a 4-digit code (programmable) is far more difficult to guess... and the colors are pretty cool too! TSA approval makes this a simple solution for suitcase use, I gave my daughter two of them, and left the spare in my laptop bag in case I need it "at the last minute."

EASY TO READ & love the 4-digit combination
I like this MUCH better than other luggage combination locks that I've used.1) a 4-digit combination is 10x more secure than a 3-digit combination (although let's face it -- an aggressive thief can easily cut the lock if s/he wants)2) I can actually READ these high-contrast white-on-black numbers, even without my reading glasses on!!!! That alone is a huge advantage. (the ones with "silver" combination dials are VERY hard to read)

Great Customer Service
These locks are easy to set the combination and seem sturdier than the ones I have purchased else where. You get 4. As I was setting the combination for the first one I moved one of the numbers without realizing it. As a result I could not open it again. I called and they sent me a new one right away. Excellent support!!

Luggage locks that come off without bolt cutters...
Luggage locks that come off without bolt cutters... and that is a VERY good thing. The Israeli security team who searched my bag were able to unlock them using their TSA locking tools instead of destroying them. The locks I replaced would have been cut and thrown away. Paid themselves off on the first trip OS.
